Arsenal Defenders A Must Buy, Suarez And Chelsea Midfielders To Score Points – Fantasy Premier League Tips GW21

Share

The Premier League will be returning to normalcy following a hectic festive schedule, and with no big clashes, one can expect it to be a high scoring weekend. The standout fixture in an otherwise lackluster lineup is the clash between Newcastle and Manchester City, which could provide a few surprises.

Goalkeepers

With a clean sheet being crucial for a goalkeeper and the defenders, it might be the best option to stick with a keeper from one of the big teams if they are already in the team. Chelsea travel to Hull, Everton host Norwich, Liverpool and Arsenal travel to Stoke and Aston Villa respectively, and all of them are in with a fair chance of keeping a clean sheet.

United host Swansea on Saturday, and following three consecutive defeats, banking on David De Gea to keep a clean sheet may not be the wisest idea. Stoke’ Asmir Begovic is out with a broken finger and will miss the game against Liverpool while Newcastle’s Tim Krul is also a doubt. With Cardiff City playing West Ham, David Marshall can be a decent value-for-money bet.

Defenders

Similar to goalkeepers, defenders from Chelsea, Everton, Liverpool and Arsenal should be safer bets than others to keep a clean sheet. David Luiz will most probably be benched in favor of John Terry and could be a good bet to even get on the scoresheet. Everton’s Jagielka and Distin are also out in addition to Baines, but Coleman with his strong scoring run may rake in the points yet again. Liverpool’s defense may have Skrtel and Toure, and with the Reds being the great offensively from set pieces, having Skrtel may just prove to be a good gamble.

Southampton, who host West Brom, have some high-scoring defenders, and Luke Shaw could yet again score a decent haul of points. With Sunderland playing a hapless Fulham, having Bardsley or O’Shea may be a gamble worth taking, but Arsenal trio Mertesacker, Sagna and Koscielny should be the safest bets in terms of collecting points.

Midfielders

If budget is not a constraint, at least a couple of the likes of Eden Hazard, Oscar, Mesut Ozil, Steven Gerrard, Samir Nasri, David Silva should be in the team. Slightly cheaper but equally effective options include Adam Lallana, Johan Cabaye, Kevin Mirallas and Jordan Henderson, although Cabaye is a doubt with an Achilles injury.

If the budget is a constraint, then Whittingham and Mutch, who could be fit to play against West Ham, look like extremely good investments. Puncheon could be a surprise package against Tottenham, but Christian Eriksen should be a good bet for a decent points haul considering Palace may not be enough of a challenge to his quality.

Strikers

Luis Suarez should be a constant on the team, considering the kind of form he has been in this season, and coming up against Stoke on Sunday will no doubt provide him with a great opportunity to extend his season’ tally beyond the 20 he already has. Romelu Lukaku facing a fragile Norwich defense also look like a tantalizing opportunity for goals. A returning Wayne Rooney will also add potency to United’s attack and could get on the score sheet.

Southampton’s Jay Rodriguez and Cardiff’s Frazier Campbell could provide excellent return on investment considering their opposition while Edin Dzeko is expected to get a game, and may get on the score sheet. Chamakh and Sagbo, despite decent points haul this season, are unlikely to fetch much joy.
