Predicted Hull City Lineup To Face Preston North End In EFL Championship

What a difference a year makes for Hull City. When they returned to The Championship after their trip to the top tier, they did not expect to be fighting relegation to the third tier. New manager Nigel Adkins will have his work cut out to even keep the team in the division, let alone look to plan for a promotion push next season.

Tigers’ lack of money makes the whole thing more difficult, and they were unable to strengthen their squad in the January transfer window. They have a tricky away game at Preston this weekend, where their fans will be praying that they can turn their fortunes around.

Probable Hull City XI

Formation: 4-4-2

GK – Allan McGregor

36-year-old Scotsman Allan McGregor brings authority to Hull City’s defence. A solid professional.

RB – Fikayo Tomori

England Under-20 international Fikayo Tomori is another player who has made his way from Chelsea. Full of running and confidence – a nice player to watch.

CB – Ondrej Mazuch

Ondrej Mazuch is a tough tackling no-nonsense defender. He has not played too many games for Hull but may be the answer to their defensive woes.

Michael Dawson

CB – Michael Dawson

Club Legend Michael Dawson is the first name on the teamsheet for the Tigers. They will hope to keep him fit and firing to ward off the Preston attacks.

LB – Ola Aina

The Chelsea youth product is young, quick and has a good football brain. But he needs to up his performance levels to ensure he keeps Preston at bay.

LW – Jackson Irvine

Australian attacking midfielder Jackson Irvine has not quite had the impact he would have liked at Hull. He looked so good under Clough at Burton and would have liked to have kicked on.

CM – Sebastian Larsson

The former Sunderland central midfielder is having a mixed season at Hull. He can be a brilliant player but has his struggles.

CM – Kamil Grosicki

The Polish creative midfielder was a revelation when he first arrived under the stewardship of Marco Silva. He has lost his way since then and can float in and out of games. However, he should be given a chance to prove what a good player he is.

Kamil Grosicki

RW – Jarred Bowen

Bowen is the one bright spark in the Hull season. A fun and creative winger with an eye for goal, he gets the fans on their feet.

ST – Nouha Dicko

Dicko has never been the most prolific striker and the former Wolves striker only has 6 goals this season. Hull will be hoping he hits a hot streak and fast.

ST – Fraizer Campbell

Fraizer Campbell is a player that can get forgotten if he is not in the headlines. He always works hard for the team and although he wasn’t quite good enough at Palace, he has a chance to make a name for himself at Hull.
