Transfer News: Aston Villa target Charlton Athletic midfielder Joe Aribo

Aston Villa News: Aston Villa are eyeing up a move for Charlton Athletic midfielder Joe Aribo.

The 22-year-old is also on the radar of Premier League giants Arsenal and Manchester City and also Old Firm clubs Celtic and Rangers.

Premier League club Southampton have also expressed their interest in Aribo.

Aribo was outstanding for the Addicks this season, bagging 10 goals and 3 assists in League One.

The English midfielder also played a huge role in leading his side to promotion playoffs final, which will be played against Sunderland this week.

Starting up his professional career with Staines Town, Aribo joined  Charlton in 2015. He has made more than 90 appearances until now.

Why should Villa move for Aribo?

The Lions are on the verge of seeing themselves in the Premier League next season as they are set to face Derby County in the Playoffs final.

Villa midfielder Adomah has played around 40 matches this season and the player is already in his 30s.

The Ghanaian’s contract is due to expire at the end of next season and Aribo would be a perfect replacement on a long-term basis.
