Predicted Everton Lineup To Face Burnley In The Premier League
An inconsistent Everton side travel to one of the toughest venues in the division, Turf Moor, to face 7th placed out-of-form Burnley side. If they emerge victorious, they’d be level on points with the Clarets, who are currently on 37. While the Toffees have won two and lost two of their latest matches, Burnley’s dream European qualification aspirations are rather threatened due to 11 games without a win.
Big Sam’s team struggled against Watford last time out and are facing problems at the back. Uncharacteristically, Allardyce’s team has failed to keep a clean sheet since Boxing Day, which seems like a long long time ago. To add to their misfortunes, they have lost two of their last three at Turf Moor. They will be looking to avenge their defeat when they take the field.
Team News
After having undergone a knee surgery, Eliaquim Mangala will be out for the remainder of the season. This game will come too soon for the liking of Phil Jagielka, who is struggling with a knock. Long-serving defenders, Ramiro Funes Mori and Leighton Baines will both miss out.
Probable Everton XI
Sam Allardyce should field a changed 4-2-3-1 instead of a deeply placed 4-3-3 which cost them the match last time out. As seen before, he will not chop and change too much, keeping in mind his sure starters for the game. The main focus, as always, will be to assemble at the back and maintain a substantial shape.
Manager: Sam Allardyce
Formation: 4-2-3-1
GK: Jordan Pickford
Pickford will continue to perform the glove work activities for Everton. He has been simply outstanding in the recent games.
RB: Jonjoe Kenny
Kenny should get another go in Coleman’s absence. He has filled in brilliantly.
CB: Ashley Williams
Williams will lead the line of defence. He is powerful, a mammoth figure in the box and an able tackler.
CB: Michael Keane
Keane will face his former employers. He isn’t in the best of forms and will have to step up, desperately.
LB: Cuco Martina
Martina will continue to perform at left-back.
CM: Idrissa Gueye
Gueye will play at defensive midfield. He often runs the extra yard, covers a lot of ground and picks passes earlier than others.
CM: Morgan Schneiderlin
Schneiderlin should replace Rooney in the midfield. The latter’s display against the Hornets was horrible and hence, he must be replaced by someone more reliable and calm.
RW: Theo Walcott
Walcott will play in his usual position. He combines pace with skill and like we’ve known over the years, that’s what makes him one of the most dangerous players in the business.
CAM: Tom Davies
Davies will play as the No.10. He picks his passes well and is a dominant figure in the midfield.
LW: Gylfi Sigurdsson
The creativity of Sigurdsson will be seen down the left flank.
ST: Oumar Niasse
Niasse offers top quality work rate, dedication and tireless efforts. He is a fine finisher and should he find spaces in the box, the forward can punish the opposition.
