Predicted Burnley Lineup To Face Crystal Palace In The Premier League
The recent outcomes might not have been favourable for Burnley Football Club but the progress they have made already deserves enormous praise. Although they got knocked out from the FA Cup last weekend, the Clarets are still occupying the 7th spot of the Premier League tally by defying the odds and will be determined to come back to winning ways against an impressive Crystal Palace side who, despite recent resurgence, are set to miss a number of first-team regulars due to significant injury concerns.
Sean Dyche, the Burnley gaffer, will be demanding another disciplined and composed display from his boys at Selhurst Park on Saturday afternoon.
Team News
Burnley have signed Spurs wingman Georges-Kévin NKoudou on loan for the remainder of the campaign. He is expected to make it to the matchday squad against the Eagles. However, the Clarets have a number of significant injuries as well.
Custodian Thomas Heaton is still a few weeks away from returning from his shoulder injury. Robbie Brady is ruled out following a knee surgery whereas Stephen Ward, Chris Wood and Scott Arfield remain highly doubtful for the tie due to their injury strains.
Formation: 4-4-1-1
Sean Dyche has been pretty consistent with his formation and has mostly fielded his side in a 4-4-1-1 setup this term. He is expected to retain the same this weekend too when the Clarets travel to Selhurst to encounter the Eagles.
Manager: Sean Dyche
Nick Pope (GK)
Pope has done a stupendous job in place of the injured Tom Heaton and despite being a bit erroneous against Manchester City last weekend, the Englishman should retain his place between the sticks on Saturday afternoon.
Phil Bardsley (RB)
Although Matthew Lowton started the Manchester City game last weekend, veteran Phil Bardsley has got the nod in recent outings and might return to the starting XI against Crystal Palace.
James Tarkowski (CB)
Tarkowski has been an apt replacement for Michael Keane and is taking care of the Burnley defence with great efficiency. He should be handed a start in place of Kevin Long.
Ben Mee (CB)
Mee, alongside Tarkowski, has formed one of the most consistent and disciplined defensive lines in the Premier League and is set to lead the back line once more as they will lock horns with Roy Hodgson’s men on Saturday afternoon.
Charlie Taylor (LB)
The injury to Stephen Ward has allowed the former Leeds United youngster to have a run of games. Taylor has done a decent job so far and could keep his place if Ward fails to recover on time.
Jóhann Berg Guðmundsson (RM)
Steven Defour (CM)
Ashley Westwood (CM)
Ashley Barnes (LM)
Jeff Hendrick (CAM)
Hendrick is adapting to an advanced midfield role and will work hard to act as a bridge between deeper midfield and the front line.
