Christiansen to make 8 changes – Predicted 4-2-3-1 Leeds United lineup to face Ipswich

Predicted Leeds United Lineup To Face Ipswich Town In EFL Championship

Leeds United will face off against Mick McCarthy’s Ipswich Town in the EFL Championship, at the Portman Road on Saturday.

The Whites sit 6th in the English second division, with 43 points after 26 games. Coming into the game without a win in their previous three matches across all competitions, with the latest being a 2-1 loss at the hands of Newport County in the FA Cup, manager Thomas Christiansen will be hoping his side steps up on Saturday against the Tractor Boys to get all three points, as they continue to chase promotion.

Team News

Playmaker Samu Saiz is set to miss out following his sending off in the loss to Newport County over the past weekend. The Spaniard has been handed a six-match ban for spitting on an opposition player. Elsewhere, defender Luke Ayling has been ruled out of the season, following an ankle surgery. Stuart Dallas is closer to a return from injury along with midfielder Ronaldo Vieira, but Caleb Ekuban remains sidelined.

Leeds have completed the signing of left-back Laurens De Bock and he is likely to be involved in some form on Saturday.

Here’s how the Yorkshire based outfit might take the field on Saturday;

Manager: Thomas Christiansen

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Felix Wiedwald (GK)

The German shot-stopper will return to the line-up, after having missed out on the defeat to Newport in the FA Cup tie.

Gaetano Berardi (RB)

The goalscorer for Leeds from last weekend’s loss, Gaetano Berardi is likely to be shifted to the right-back spot, with Ayling out for the season.

Pontus Jansson (CB)

The giant Swedish defender should be back into the playing XI and would look to render solidity and steel to the Whites’ backline.

Laurens De Bock

Liam Cooper (CB)

The club captain made a substitute appearance against Newport but should start on Saturday alongside Jansson.

Laurens De Bock (LB)

The 25-year-old is has completed his move to Leeds, having undergone a medical on Wednesday. Given the problems for Leeds in full-back areas, he could be thrust into action right away.

Kalvin Phillips (CM)

The 22-year old midfielder is set to make his 26th Championship appearance of the season, at the Portman Road on Saturday.

Eunan O’Kane (CM)

With Ronaldo Vieira yet to return to action, the Irishman should start in the middle of the park, replacing Mateusz Klich who featured in the FA Cup.

Kemar Roofe (RW)

The former Oxford United man has scored 7 goals for Leeds in all competitions this term and will be looking to improve his tally against Ipswich.

Kemar Roofe

Pablo Hernandez (CAM)

With Saiz out for the next 6 games, Spanish midfielder Pablo Hernandez should replace him in the No.10 role for the Whites.

Ezgjan Alioski (LW)

On the left-hand side of the attack, Macedonian winger Gjanni Alioski is set to start. Needs to bear more creative responsibilities in the absence of Saiz.

Pierre-Michel Lasogga (ST)

The German forward hasn’t found the back of the net in his last 5 appearances in all competitions for Leeds. Will be keen on addressing that on Saturday.
