We are talking about Robert Lewandowski here. The Borussia Dortmund striker has 6 months remaining on his current deal in Germany, and will be free to negotiate with any club he wishes in January. Many of Europe’s top clubs are said to be after Lewandowski. There is still the slight possibility that he will chose to stay with Dortmund and sign a new contract, but after fallouts with several of the staff at Signal Iduna Park, the damage seems to be have done already.
Overall, Robert Lewandowski has scored around 81 Goals, 24 Assists in last three years. Now let’s analyse where this Polish goal machine should move and where he shouldn’t?
Bayern Munich are favourites, as it is rumoured that they are his first choice, though the likes of Real Madrid, Juventus and Chelsea can offer him a new challenge in a new league and still let him compete in the Champions League. Although all three of the aforementioned clubs can offer the Poland striker stable success, but it seems that moving to one of the clubs other than Bayern Munich would be an unwise decision.
It wouldn’t be smart to join Real Madrid as there is the greedy Cristiano Ronaldo, who rarely tries to set up his teammates and takes every shot possible, which left him with the worst shot to goal ratio in Europe last season. Like Karim Benzema who is criticised for not scoring enough, it would be Lewandowski who would be struggling to score 15 goals a season, then again if a supposed winger is going to take the majority of shots in a game and miss the most of them, it will be hard for any striker.
Juventus meanwhile would be the better choice out of the three, as they can offer success and also don’t have a shot-hog in their line-up. However, they do have quite a lot of competition for a starting spot, as Carlos Tevez, Fernando Llorente and Fabio Quagliarella are all world class talents, while youngster Domenico Berardi has 7 Serie A goals to his name on loan at Sassuolo, and is rumoured to be a great hope for Antonio Conte. This meaning that he is not guaranteed a starting spot in Turin.
However, Chelsea would be the worst decision he could possibly make. Andriy Shevchenko was the best striker in Europe before he made the move to London. It was at Chelsea under Jose Mourinho when his decline started and gotten worse, while their negative, defensive play left the Blues’ midfield devoid of creativity, and the former AC Milan striker was given all of the blame. Meanwhile, at Liverpool Fernando Torres was one of Europe’s hottest hitmen, scoring goals for fun, while he was also known for his scorching shots from 25 yards and also for his ability to roast defenders with his awesome pace, while he was also well known for his intricate moves in the box, as his goal against Marseille in the Champions League of 2008 seen him fake and shimmy his way through a crowd of defenders and finish at the far post.
Chelsea is where great strikers go to die, and at the age of 24, Lewandowski still has the majority of his career in front of him, and cannot afford joining Chelsea and being remembered as a player with great potential, but failed to make the mark.
