8 Goals In Just 16 Games: Tottenham Or Manchester United? Where Should This Power Dribbler Move?

There seems to be a huge line to sign Fulham striker Moussa Dembele, do not worry if you mix up his name with another Moussa Dembele or Mousa Dembele who plays for Tottenham. This 19-year-old striker has been tracked by many teams since he joined Fulham in 2012 and he has been turning heads with his impressive performances for Fulham in the Championship this season.

Two clubs have been scouting him for quite a while, Manchester United and Tottenham and the youngster will have to make a big decision when it comes to deciding which team he signs for. Instead of looking at just the financials of the deal, the U20 French striker should look at where his development could be better as we have seen a lot of talented individuals lose the plot when signing for the wrong club.

Moussa is a talent who has been likened to Nicolas Anelka. Someone who has pace, power and super dribbling skills, plus he isn’t overawed at playing in such a level. The Championship is after all, the second tier in English football even if the gulf in quality is extremely large between the Premier League and the Championship.

Dembele already has 8 goals in just 16 games for Fulham this season and this could well be the chance for both Tottenham or United to clinch a deal but for the sake of his growth, the French striker should think about a move to Tottenham simply because of the fact that Mauricio Pochettino is present at the club.

The Argentine seems to have a lot of faith in the youth, Mason, Dier, Bentaleb and Kane are just some players who have thrived under him and he had a similar record for Southampton when the likes of Jay Rodriguez and Adam Lallana were shining under the former manager.

Louis van Gaal might be a bigger name in the management game, but he certainly doesn’t seem to know what he is doing at Manchester United. Loaning out Tyler Blackett and James Wilson when United are short in central defenders and strikers is lunacy or bad planning at least and there wouldn’t be a lot of growth for the youngster at Manchester United at the moment.

To continue his growth, Dembele has to be at a club which knows how to get the best out of their unpolished stars. Tottenham surely know what is the right way of getting this done, well at least, Pochettino and his staff do.

Dembele’s contract also ends at the end of the season and that means he would be free to move but the club signing him would have to pay Fulham a compensation fee. Tottenham should ensure they get this bright star and have another young star willing to give it his all.
