The Reds have been lacking something out wide of late and will be looking to solve that problem in January.
An old favourite of Brendan Rodgers’, the two worked together at Swansea, in which Dyer’s pace was a big part of the Northern Irish manager’s game. Dyer has impressed again this season and is seemingly ready to take the step up to a top 4 club. There are no rumours about the Reds’ interest in the Englishman, but there is no doubt that he is an option for the Liverpool boss.
A player that has been linked with Liverpool several times in the past few transfer windows, this may finally be the window in which he joins the Merseyside club. Although there is a chance of him joining, it will most likely be on loan, as it is unlikely that Pep Guardiola will want to see him leave Bavaria for the rest of his career, as he is one of the German giants’ most valuable young players.
Barcelona winger Cristian Tello has been rumoured to be considering his options as his game time has plummeted after the summer signing of Brazil superstar Neymar. With Alexis Sanchez also playing the best football of his career, Tello is mainly used as a time wasting sub or in small cup games that matter little to Gerardo Martino. This is frustrating the Spain international, and he thinks he is better than a bench role so is looking for a move away, and Liverpool are touted as the front runners for his signature, though they face potential competition from Italian side Fiorentina and German champions Bayern Munich.
FC Basel and Egypt winger Mohamed Salah was one of the standout players in this season’s edition of the Champions League group stage, in which he orchestrated two wins over Premier League giants Chelsea. Salah is one of the hottest young players in the world right now and has attracted interest from many top clubs. This gives Liverpool competition that they may not be able to handle, but should still place a bid in January anyway.
Newcastle winger Hatem Ben Arfa has been linked with Liverpool in the past, and in all likeliness, they will return with a bid in January. Though with the Toons also flying high this season, it is unlikely that he will force his way out, and that will drive up the price for the France international. Whether he could make a big impact as a starter at Liverpool or not is debatable, but he would certainly fit in somewhere.
