5 Players Who Did Nothing For Their Club: One Such Player Did It For Both Manchester United And Chelsea

Share

The Premier League clubs are always looking for players who can get them to the next level and they are always looking for the next bargain, something that Leicester seem to have done very well this season.

Clubs don’t always get it right though and sometimes they sign a player for a ton of money and the player doesn’t do much for the club. We look at five such players who signed for Premier League teams and ended up doing nothing for them.

5. Victor Valdes

Probably one of the worst stories to have come out in recent times, Victor Valdes is irate at his treatment at Manchester United and by Louis van Gaal. The Spaniard started training with the club and had signed a deal after recovering from his injury but he was frozen out of the first team and even had some startling claims about his treatment, now at Standard Liege, Valdes is much happier now but couldn’t do much for Manchester United.

4. Radamel Falcao

The Colombian has actually failed for two clubs, not just one. After coming back from an injury, another cruciate ligament one, he signed for Manchester United on loan and didn’t really set the world on fire. He might have scored a handful of goals for the club but he got another chance when he signed with Chelsea this season and barring one or two good performances, he hasn’t really done much for this side either.

3. Marko Marin

Everyone remembers Marko Marin during his time in the Bundesliga with Werder Bremen and he was being compared to Messi, yes, the Argentine. Marin signed for Chelsea and his career has gone down the drain, the German has been sent out on loan endlessly and now plays for Trabzonspor. He is only 26-years-old but his talent seems to have gone down the drain already.

2. Eric Djemba-Djemba

The Cameroonian didn’t really set the world on fire when playing for Manchester United, the biggest team he played for during his career. The midfielder made just 20 league appearances in 2 years at United and barely made an impact for the club. He even tried his hand out in the Indian Super League recently.

  1. Kim Kallstrom

A star at Lyon the Swede was brought into Arsenal to provide them some cover in the midfield area but he barely kicked a ball in anger for the club. He was loaned from Spartak Moscow to Arsenal in the January transfer window and really didn’t do much for the club. He was carrying an injury and made only four appearances for the Gunners.
