With the Premier League lacking any great young talent in it’s top clubs, we look at some players who could change that
Position: Defensive Midfield
Nationality: Ghana
Club: Inter Milan
Age: 20
Perfect For: Chelsea
Inter youngster Alfred Duncan has failed to impress in Serie A. With speed and strength his main attributes, he doesn’t have the flair or technical ability to be a hit in Italy, though his physical presence and purpose makes him perfect for the Premier League. With John Obi Mikel getting older and Ramires of interest to Barcelona and Bayern Munich, they will need to replace one of the two eventually, and Duncan could provide exactly what they need.
Position: Attacking Midfield / Second Striker
Nationality: France
Club: Olympique Lyonnais
Age: 22
Perfect For: Arsenal / Liverpool
Lyon wonderkid Clement Grenier is arguably the best young player to come out of France since the early days of Thierry Henry. Blessed with pace, passing ability, skill and finishing ability, Grenier has the potential to become the perfect attacking player. More suited to a European style, Arsenal and Liverpool are the two best clubs to facilitate his needs.
Position: Goalkeeper
Nationality: Italy
Club: Genoa
Age: 21
Perfect For: Manchester City
The young Italian goalkeeper has been tipped as the heir to the legendary Gianluigi Buffon in the Italy setup. He has been praised for his razor sharp reflexes and also his distribution, two things that Joe Hart lacks and is often criticised over. The former Pescara man could be the answer to City’s problems
Position: Striker
Nationality: Germany
Club: Hamburg
Age: 21
Perfect For: Arsenal
Young German hitman Lasogga has been one of the Bundesliga’s biggest hits this season, bagging 8 goals for Hamburg already, he is joined 5th in the Bundesliga scoring charts. The former Hertha Berlin man has a similar style to the great Thierry Henry, and that may be enough to get Arsenal to buy. With Yaya Sanogo struggling to find his feet adding to the academy’s failure to find any major talents in the striking department, Lasogga would certainly add to the growing number of German stars at the Emirates.
Position: Attacking Midfielder
Nationality: Serbia
Club: Benfica
Age: 21
Perfect For: Tottenham, Arsenal, Liverpool, Newcastle
There is no doubt that in 5 years time Serbia will have a golden generation of players, and this will most likely be led by Djuricic, who is possibly the most naturally gifted player to ever come out of Serbia. The Benfica attacker can play almost any position across midfield and attack, and can fit into almost any formation.
