4 Unsung Heroes To Watch Out For This Season Featuring Chelsea And Arsenal Stars

Eden Hazard, Memphis Depay, Alexis Sanchez and David Silva, these are the players that everyone will be keeping an eye on for their respective teams this season. The creativity and vision provided by these players often makes the difference between a win and a loss but football is a team sport and there are certain individuals who do not get the accolades or attention that they deserve.

The top 4 aren’t decided solely by the performance by one player but it is a collective effort and more often than not there are silent spectators, players who do the dirty work and never get the affection or adulation they deserve. We look at 4 players from the top 4 who would be important for their clubs this season.

Kurt Zouma

If last season was anything to go buy, Chelsea have bought one of the best young defenders in the world. Zouma slotted in often for either Terry or Cahill and despite a few shaky appearances looked world-class for the team, especially in the second half of the season. Zouma should get an even bigger role for the defending champions and his ability to come into the team and lead from the back could be significant if Chelsea are expecting to retain the Premier League crown.

Wilfried Bony

Signed by the then Champions in the winter transfer window, Bony came with a big reputation from Swansea but hasn’t been able to do much during his 6 months at the Etihad stadium. This should change however after his bedding in time and his partnership or sole striker role could be pivotal if Manchester City are to get back the Premier League crown or do better than what they have achieved in the Champions League. His goal scoring record could be important in keeping City in the chase for the crown.

Hector Bellerin

It might come as a surprise to name someone so young as one of the unsung heroes but Bellerin was immense for Arsenal last season. Although a lot of plaudits went toward Francis Coquelin, Bellerin was just as important to the club and the full-back should have an even greater role to play in Arsenal’s defence this season. He could even keep out seasoned professionals like Monreal and Debuchy if things go his way.

Ashley Young

Often the butt of all those diving jokes, Ashley Young showed that he is one of the best in his position and was one of the players United used to great extent in the second half of last season. Young was immaculate as a winger and proved he hasn’t lost any ability last season, he was rewarded with a new 3-year deal recently and should show his detractors that he still has a lot to give to the team.
