3 Top players who could fire Swansea City back to the Premier League including £17million star

Despite revitalising the squad initially, Carlos Carvalhal’s Swansea underperformed in the latter stages of the Premier League and were relegated.

After taking over the reins from Paul Clement in the wake of a shocking run of form, it looked as if Carvalhal had got the grip of Swansea with his witty analogies in post-match press conferences and aura. However, he couldn’t arrest the late rut which became big and eventually relegated the Swans to the Championship.

As with any team who drops into the second tier, there is likely to be a lot of alterations to the squad as they look to adapt to the demands of the Championship. Same with Swansea, who will be hoping for a strong campaign with an aim of securing promotion back to the Premier League.

Here are three signings that Swansea must make to mount a serious promotion push to get back into the Premier League.

Moses Odubajo (Hull City)

Hull City defender Moses Odubajo is out of contract in the summer. Odubajo has not played for Hull since the 2016 Championship playoff final, following three major knee operations.

It would take time for the 24-year-old to get back to fitness and match sharpness but he would be a worthy signing, especially as he will be a free agent in six weeks.

Previously being one of the most highly-rated defenders in the Championship, Odubajo could be a smart signing for Swansea.

Nacer Chadli (West Brom)

West Brom broke their record transfer fee to sign him from Tottenham Hotspur in 2015. After managing a decent 5 goals and 5 assists in the 2016/17 season, Chadli made just 3 Premier League appearances this season due to a hip injury he sustained last December.

Nacer Chadli

According to reports, the Belgian has a release clause of £17million. With 42 caps for his country, Chadli is certainly one of the more experienced players in the West Brom squad.

A classy winger on his day, Chadli could become a key addition for Swansea this summer.

Jarrod Bowen (Hull City)

Jarrod Bowen was one of the rare shining lights in a disappointing season for Hull, scoring 15 goals in the Championship. He is a player with enormous potential and with Swansea’s attack needing reinforcements, a move for Bowen makes complete sense for Carvalhal.
