3 Superstars That Manchester City Could Sign This Summer Including Aubameyang And Man Utd Target

Share

With back to back victories in the Premier League this month, Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City have managed to climb up the points table and now stand in the 3rd place, just 10 points off Chelsea at the top of the table. They are outsiders to pip the Blues to the title but Guardiola seems to have already resigned to the fact that the title is out of reach and is planning to improve the squad come the end of the season.

And according to a recent report, Pep Guardiola is planning a £200m spending spree at Manchester City this summer with 11 first-team stars set to leave the Etihad. There are a few players who do not deserve to play under the manager and it is now understood that Guardiola is ready to spend big on top transfer targets in the summer. But who can he spend on? Here are three transfer targets that can walk into this Manchester City squad next season:

Antoine Griezmann (Atletico Madrid):

The French star is one of the most prolific goal-scorers in Europe at the moment and reports suggest that he could be up for sale in the summer. Rivals Manchester United and Chelsea are also interested in his signature but Guardiola will be hoping to lure him to the Etihad with a promise of regular football.

At 25, Griezmann is a long term option and will surely walk into the first team at the club and with Sergio Aguero’s future in doubt, funding Griezmann’s move should also not be a problem. Adding the Atleti man can make this City squad close to unbeatable in the next Premier League season.

Virgil van Dijk (Southampton):

Another player who is extensively linked with a move to the Etihad is Southampton star defender Virgil van Dijk. The Dutch international has turned into one of the best defenders in the Premier League with his performances this season in front of goal and has been linked with an exit with the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool all fighting for his signature.

Reports suggest that City are front runners for his signature as Guardiola is planning to replace the likes of John Stones and Vincent Kompany from the first team.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Borussia Dortmund):

The Gabon international is one of the best strikers in the world at the moment and is looking to quit the Bundesliga at the end of the season. He has recently revealed that he is waiting on a dream move to Real Madrid but Premier League clubs such as Liverpool and Manchester City are interested in his signature.

Aubameyang is touted as a replacement for Sergio Aguero in the first team for City and the 27-year old has all the attributes that can make him a success in the Premier League. At his age, he is capable of making an immediate impact on the squad and might turn this squad in genuine title contenders.
