3 Summer Signings Who Will Add Super Depth To This Liverpool Side – Two Real Madrid Stars In The List

Share

It was always understood that Liverpool would spend big this summer owing to Champions League football and the additional revenue that comes with it. But an actually figure could not be derived and there were many speculations about the kind of money that Rodgers would be allowed to spend to make the squad better. But now it seems that the figure would be close to £60 million and the management would like to increase the overall squad strength with the money. It is granted that Liverpool would be required to play an additional number of matches this season and thus a bigger squad is the call of the hour. We look at three players whom Liverpool could buy for that kind of a transfer budget this transfer window.

1. Isco

For long have Liverpool wanted a winger or an attacking midfielder but have not roped anyone successfully. From Mkhitaryan to Willian to Eriksen to Konoplyanka, Liverpool have tried for a number of player, but have failed to get any. Many are in the idea that Liverpool would once again try and get Konoplyanka from Dnipro in the summer, but the question remains that with their increased stature, is it really meaningful to get the old target or go for a completely new target as Isco would walk into the team with ease and also elevate the quality of the team to a great extent? Real Madrid would not be too pleased to part ways with Isco though whom they bought from Malaga this season but a mega bid could do the trick with a bit of insistence from the player as well.

2. Yann M’Vila

Lucas’ form has really been unsatisfactory and Liverpool have often struggled at the defensive midfield position this season. They have looked at a few targets but so far it looks like M’Vila is the most likely man for the Merseyside club. The Rubin Kazan man has all the qualities to be successful in the Premier League and Liverpool would be lucky to have him. With qualification to Champions league confirmed, money won’t be the issue for the Merseysiders. But if he joins the side Rodgers would not have to play Henderson who is not a natural defensive midfielder or Allen, who has failed to impress much. He can have a regular man at that spot along with Gerrard.

3. Fabio Coentrao

Rodgers was not satisfied with the performance of Jose Enrique as the left back and decided to bring Aly Cissokho to the team on loan. But he has also proved to be a failure and now Liverpool must go into the summer market with the lookout for a dependable leftback. Real Madrid player Fabio Coentrao is a realistic target with him not getting as much chances for the Spanish giants and looking forward to a swap. Although Coentrao is not anymore the best or the most dynamic players around, but he still has a few years of top class football left in him and Liverpool would do good to get him a budget rate.
