The Frenchman has revealed on numerous occasions that he turned down the opportunity to sign the likes of Didier Drogba, Cristiano Ronaldo, and much more. 2016 has also provided several names to the list; Jamie Vardy was the 1^st to reject a move to Arsenal while the club held on for a long time before failing to get Lyon sensation Alexandre Lacazette.

As Arsenal struggle to deal with Danny Welbeck’s injury, the long list of strikers linked with Arsenal seems to go on. Here are the top three strikers Arsenal would not have considered until now:

James Rodriguez

It is becoming increasingly apparent that James Rodriguez, who is one of the world’s most expensive players, has no place in the Real Madrid squad under Zinedine Zidane. This gives Madrid a major problem since they do not want to have a €70 million player sitting on the bench and spreading his discontent. Rodriguez is likely to be sold – at a discount – before the summer transfer window shuts. Arsenal came up as a surprise entrant to sign Mesut Ozil a few years ago. There is every possibility that history could repeat itself.

Loic Remy

Arsenal have not shown a reluctance to conduct transfer dealings with Chelsea in the past even though the West London club are a fierce rival. The likes of Ashley Cole, William Gallas, Yossi Benayoun, and Petr Cech have all switched between red and blue. It is clear that Loic Remy does not have a future at Chelsea even though the Frenchman has a good goals-to-game ratio. At 29 years of age, Remy still has a good time left in the game and he may also not cost much either. His ability to play as a striker or as a winger is the kind of versatility that Wenger likes.

Javier Hernandez

The former Manchester United forward is playing his football in Germany with Bayern Leverkusen. He would jump at the opportunity to join a club like Arsenal even though it may not give him the same number of first-team opportunities. Hernandez will be keen to prove himself at a big club especially after having failed in his single-season at Real Madrid. Hernandez did well at United but was forced away due to the presence of high profile competition, but he could be a perfect fit for Arsenal in terms of price and experience.
