3 Reasons Why West Ham Should Break The Bank To Sign This Real Madrid Superstar

Share

The transfer window is a tricky thing to look into, while some teams like Chelsea and Manchester United are hammering things away and making big signings, other clubs like Middlesbrough are pulling off some rather weird and uncanny transfers that no one would have though is possible.

Another club that seems to be on the up and making the right noises is West Ham. The Hammers had a great season last time around and will be expecting another good campaign, as Slaven Bilic seems to be getting better.

One player being linked with a move to the Hammers is James Rodriguez, yes, the same player who joined Real Madrid and didn’t have the best of campaigns under Zinedine Zidane. The 25-year-old Colombian joined the Spanish giants in 2014 but hasn’t been able to cement a place under the French manager and didn’t even start the final of the Champions League, which Real won.

West Ham might not be the biggest club in London but they are growing and here are three reasons why the Colombian could actually end up playing for the Hammers.

Guaranteed first team football

Even if this is a loan deal, it would make a lot of sense for the 25-year-old to move to London. Rodriguez is one of the most talented players in the world and if he is given a chance to shine regularly, he will ensure that you get the best of him, just like he does it for Colombia.

At Real there might have been a lot of players fighting for the same position but at West Ham, apart from Dimitri Payet and Manuel Lanzini, there really isn’t a lot of creativity coming through. James would certainly be spending more time on the pitch than on the bench if he joined the Hammers and that would be ideal for him, if he wants to fulfil his potential.

The Hammers are getting better

If someone wanted to complete this deal a couple of years ago, people would have been laughing really hard but now West Ham have a proper plan and the move to the Olympic Stadium and European football will obviously make them an attractive proposition.

Slaven Bilic might look like a man possessed but his team was one of the most enjoyable to watch last season and with another creative element, they could even finish better than what they did last time around. Rodriguez might just be convinced by the Bilic plan, as long as it does not end up with him sitting on the bench.

A lack of Payet power

This might be one of the biggest reasons why the deal can go through, even though Dimitri Payet recently stated that he isn’t going anywhere – many claim that interview to a paper in the UK was fabricated – he still might end up being sold by the Hammers if they get a crazy, crazy deal.

Payet could move to any top club in the world and with so many big deals happening, West Ham could cash in on the Frenchman and sign someone younger who could lead the team on for years. Of course, Rodriguez didn’t have the best of seasons last time around but that does not mean he cannot star and perform like Payet.

The Colombian is in search of regular football and even though West Ham might not be the first choice for him, the London club can certainly provide him with a lot more playing time and that is exactly what he needs to get back to his best.
