3 Reasons Why Manchester United Cannot Afford To Miss Out On This £83million Superstar

Share

Manchester United are now playing the current season with the costliest squad ever accumulated in the history of the sport. As a result of the millions of dollars spent on the squad by Jose Mourinho, the Red Devils are easily one of the most star-studded squads in Europe at the moment. Ed Woodward will back Mourinho up in every decision he wants to make and one such deal that the duo wants to complete next summer is a move for Real Madrid star Gareth Bale. Bale, 27, joined Real in 2013 for £83million and since then, the former Tottenham Hotspur star has been superb in the Spanish capital but now, he has been linked with a move back to the Premier League with reports suggesting that Mourinho arranged a secret meeting with his agent to talk about the deal. Though nothing is official, here is why Manchester Untied should do everything they can to land their man:

European pedigree:

There is no doubt that Jose Mourinho will be fighting to qualify for the Champions League at the end of the season. However, the current crop of players are not showing that promise to fight in Europe’s elite competition and that has left Mourinho with a lot of work to do in the offseason even if they end the current season with a place in the top-4. This is where Gareth Bale makes sense for United. He is a player who has played in the Champions League regularly and has also won it twice in the last three years. He has plenty of experience in such high octane games and can be the difference for United not just in Europe but also in the Premier League next season.

Star replacement:

Currently, Manchester United have the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Wayne Rooney and Paul Pogba and these three players are amongst the best in the world. However, Rooney and Zlatan are into the last few years of their career and the Red Devils need a big European player name who will provide the squad that stronger lot at least on paper for years to come. Pogba, Martial, Rashford and Lingard have all done relatively well this season but the young lot need a star player who can keep them on the right track and Bale is as big a star as they can get. He will command a place in the side, improve the quality and confidence of the players, helping United achieve the stature they had under Sir Alex Ferguson.

His Premier League experience:

There is no doubt that Jose Mourinho will spend big in the summer transfer window. The likes of Antoine Griezmann have been linked with a big money move to Old Trafford so it is clear that Mourinho will add a top quality star in the next transfer windows. Though there will be no shortage of players ready to move to Manchester, Gareth Bale provides the best option for the manager. He is Welsh, knows the English game well and suits the direct style that Mourinho favours. He is an experienced player who will not take time to adjust to the conditions at Old Trafford and is easily the best choice for Mourinho next summer.
