3 Reasons Why Arsene Wenger Should Be Sacked Even If He Qualifies For The Champions League

The booes were loud at the Emirates as Arsenal gave away another lead and were held to a 1-1 draw by Crystal Palace. The Gunners were supposed to win and move up to third place in the Premier League table but that did not happen and Arsenal actually ended up behind Manchester City and are in danger of losing the fourth spot to Manchester United.

This was just another typical game for the team from London, dominate possession, don’t really do much in the game, take the lead, get pegged back and well hold on to the point and repeat this in a couple of weeks.

Arsenal were expected to win this Premier League, especially when the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City were below par and it looked like they would do it in the second half of the season and chase down Leicester but that didn’t take place and Arsenal have slowly slipped down the league table and seem set to end up in fourth place, their cherished finishing position, year after year.

Wenger’s side still might play Champions League football but the 66-year-old manager of the club has to go and here are three reasons why.

Same old Arsenal frailties

Arsenal have won only three times in their last 10 games, this includes losses against Swansea and Watford. The Gunners have also drawn against West Ham during this run of results and well in all these games and year on year, we have seen that the London side does not have the steel, grit and determination to grind out results.

Arsene Wenger might want his side to play beautiful football and on their day, they can give Barcelona a run for their money but more often than not, the Gunners have been caught out by teams that nullify their attacking threat and are willing to pressurise the London side. Arsene Wenger has not fixed this issue for years on end and well, it does not seem likely he will do it anytime soon.

Not spending big in the transfer window

You might argue that Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez were big money signings but what about the defence and midfield? Arsenal have needed someone who is willing to put in a tough tackle and more importantly be a team leader but Wenger does not seem to be concerned about this at all.

They need a Patrick Vieira; everyone knows that it is a requirement but unfortunately it is only Wenger who does not see the problem at the club. The steel is required for any silky smooth play and the lack of that has certainly affected the side over the years.

No Premier League title in over 10 years

Jose Mourinho might have called him a specialist in failure but not winning the Premier League for a number of years is a poor record, especially for a side of the size of Arsenal. Arsene Wenger might have been a great manager years ago and he probably is one of the best ever to manage in the Premier League but certainly he is getting on and needs to be replaced.

Jose Mourinho got sacked, came back, won the league and got sacked again but he got the job done. Arsene Wenger needs to be removed as soon as possible from the club. He has stabilised the team and now needs to let someone else do the job and win the titles that the Gunners could have won but haven’t over the years.
