Three Players Who Real Madrid Should Sell In The Summer

Real Madrid’s season has failed to reach the heights of last campaign. Zinedine Zidane’s Galacticos are out of the contention for the La Liga title, with rivals Barcelona set to beat them to the trophy. They also find themselves behind neighbours Atletico Madrid in the table.

While they have made it to the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League, a tough test awaits them in the form of German champions Bayern Munich, which means the possibility of the Merengues finishing the season without a trophy is very much likely.

Real Madrid clearly need to make spme changes to their squad and here are three players who must be pushed through the exit doors ahead of next season.

Karim Benzema

The 30-year-old Frenchman has been at the Santiago Bernabeu for nine years but the forward is currently enduring a lean campaign in front of goal. The French striker has managed just 9 goals in all competitions for the European and La Liga champions, including only 5 in the league. This is his worst scoring season since his debut campaign at the club.

Benzema has been a great servant for the club over the years and has played a huge role in their success in recent years. However, with Real Madrid reportedly eyeing a move for Bayern Munich marksman Robert Lewandowski in the summer, the Frenchman’s days at the Santiago Bernabeu should be over.

Kiko Casilla

Signed from Espanyol back in the summer of 2015, Kiko Casilla was expected to push Keylor Navas for the No.1 spot at Real Madrid but the one-time capped Spanish international hasn’t been able to make an impact. Since joining the reigning Spanish and European champions, Casilla has made just 41 appearances in all competitions in close to three years, in which he has conceded 46 goals.

With Navas proving himself against the odds time and again, Casilla should be shown the exit doors in the summer, especially with interest from the likes of Getafe and Sevilla.

Dani Ceballos

The 21-year-old joined Liverpool from Real Betis only in the last summer but has struggled to nail down a place in the first-team for Los Blancos. Ceballos has only appeared 20 times for Zidane’s side in all competitions this term, scoring two goals in the process. However, only two of those appearances have been starts in the La Liga.

Premier League giants Liverpool have been heavily linked with the player and Madrid should look to offload the talented youngster at the end of the season.
