3 Players Who Could Follow Memphis Depay To Manchester United

Share

Manchester United have already started building for next season by signing the young Dutch attacker Memphis Depay earlier this week, Depay would join the Red Devils at the start of next season as long as he passes his medical. Louis Van Gaal had earlier stated that they would need to sign a few more players this season if they are going to challenge for the title. Depay is a young and exciting player, but United do need a bit of help in a few positions, we look at 3 players who could come along with Depay and strengthen Manchester United next season.

Bruno Martins Indi

The centre back sprung into the limelight during the 2014 World Cup in Brazil for the Netherlands, but somehow he ended up signing for FC Porto after the World Cup. That shouldn’t be a problem since Porto are known to produce some of the best talents, Falcao and James Rodriguez come to mind in the recent past. Indi is only 23-years-old and is rated as one of the best young centre backs in Europe, he could easily come to Manchester United as he was linked with a move to the club earlier but having his former Netherlands coach as the head coach of Manchester United would certainly help the move. United have needed a decent centre back for a long time and Indi could fill that role easily.

Gonzalo Higuain

Higuain

Probably a long shot but Higuain could be available for a move at the end of the season, Napoli might not be able to make it to the Champions League next season, unless they win the Europa League this season, something that Rafa Benitez is more than capable off but Higuain had always stated that he wants Champions League football and that could be a reality for Manchester United next season. United have needed a striker for a long time and this requirement has come more to the fore this season with the lack of goals from Robin Van Persie and Radamel Falcao. Higuain would be an ideal player to join the United attack and help them click as a unit. According to Express, United are competing with Arsenal for the Argentine’s signature.

Mats Hummels

Mats Hummels

The Hummels to United story has gained more traction than a Formula one car had a few years ago, Hummels has been linked with United since the start of last season and with developments at Dortmund could help make the deal happen. The 25-year-old could be leaving the club along with Jurgen Klopp and that would certainly help United not only in their defensive issues but also bring in another leader to the club. Ever since the departures of Vidic, Ferdinand and Evra, United have lacked leaders but Hummels certainly can bring all that and much more to the team.
