3 Players Who Could Follow Chelsea’s Oscar To China Featuring This £700,000-a-week Wage Proposal

Share

For a long time now, the Premier League has been known as one of the richest leagues in the world of football. But recently, the English league and all its lavish clubs have found able competitors from a new continent. Formed in 2004, the Asian league has slowly gathered some reputation and is now starting to attract top class players from Europe. Though the quality and the conditions in the league are no match to the top leagues in Europe, the amount of money on offer has seen a number of stars move to various clubs in China. Chelsea’s Brazilian playmaker Oscar has now agreed to a £52m move to Shanghai PG in January and a number of other stars are also wanted by cubs in China. With the transfer window not too far, here are three players who could follow Oscar to China:

Wayne Rooney (Manchester United):

The Manchester United skipper is one of the greatest players to have ever played for the club in its history. He is not too far away from becoming their highest scorer but his form in the last year or so has seen the managers at the club ignore him from the starting XI. Jose Mourinho initially used the English striker this season but Rooney could not show enough promise to secure a regular place in the starting XI. And recent reports suggest that a couple of Chinese teams are ready to make him the highest paid player with a staggering wage of £700,000-a-week It is more than a 200% rise in his wages at the moment and it might be too much money to turn down for the 31-year old in January.

John Terry (Chelsea):

Another English international who is struggling to get into the starting XI at his club, John Terry, is also the skipper of the side, but he is not the first choice defender for Antonio Conte this season. The 36-year old has shown a few weaknesses early this season and is now a back up for the three defenders that Conte has used at the back. Reports suggest that the Chinese league are ready to offer him anywhere around £8m-£12m in wages a season if he makes the move and with Conte adamant with his methods, Terry might become the first English player to play in China.

However, Daily Mail recently claimed that Terry is eyeing title with Chelsea and is not prepared to move to China.

Angel di Maria (PSG):

The former Real Madrid and Manchester United attacker is still one of the most productive players in his position, but this season, he is not really pleased with his position in the squad in Paris. Reports suggest that the player’s agent has finalised talks with an unnamed Chinese outfit for a move in January and that Di Maria is also ready for his move. To add fuel to the rumors (via lequipe.fr), the Argentine was absent for PSG’s recent victory over Lorient and was not even in the training that followed the game. He has suffered since Zlatan Ibrahimovic left for Manchester United and with the amount of money on offer in China, he may well make the move in January.
