3 Players Who Are Likely To Leave Chelsea This January

Share

Antonio Conte’s Chelsea showed their class at the weekend when they managed to put the Champions of England to the sword with goals from Eden Hazard, Diego Costa and Victor Moses at the Stamford Bridge. This victory took them to the 5th place 8 games into the season and Conte will hope that his team can put up the good show till the turn of the year. The manager will surely plunge into the January transfer market for some additions to the squad and will also let a couple or more players from the squad leave the club. So let’s take a look at 3 such players who are close to securing a move away from the Bridge in January:

Cesc Fabregas:

The Spaniard is still one of the most exciting midfielders in Europe but Conte does not seem to be too interested in keeping him at the club. He was linked with a move away from the club in the summer but the manager was not able to find a suitor for the midfielder. However, with the likes of AC Milan yet again linked with a move for Fabregas, it looks like he might be on his way out of the club in January. It is also rumored that Conte is ready to offer him as a part deal for his top transfer target leaving him no chance of staying at the club come the end of the season.

Branislav Ivanovic:

The Serbian was immense at the end of the previous season but this season, his start has been a bit shaky. He has not played a role in the last two league games for the side which ended in victory and with Victor Moses turning out to be fruitful in a wing-back role, Ivanovic will find it hard to get a place in the side this season. At 32, he may not have too many years of Premier League left in him and he might be the first man that Conte let go in January. He has been decent in his time for the club but his time might be up now.

John Obi Mikel:

The midfielder is yet to play a minute of the Premier League this season and it does not look like Antonio Conte has him in his plans for the club this campaign. The likes of N Golo Kante and Nemanja Matic have been trusted with the midfield duties this season and Mikel has not been able to get a single appearance in the league. He is still a decent player who can provide cover for the first team players but Conte has not looked like using him in any of the games this campaign and may decide to let him leave in January. There will be no shortage of clubs who will want the experienced international who might not be at the Bridge come the end of the season.
