3 Players Arsenal Should Sign Before The World Cup As Their Price Might Go Up

Share

While Arsenal still has their most important match of the season to play for, preparation for the next season has already begun in full flow. While this season Arsenal did their most important business at the end of the summer transfer window, Arsenal does not have the luxury to do the same in the upcoming transfer window. With the World Cup breathing down the neck, Arsenal need to act and act fast as after the World Cup the transfer price of their targets may rise so much that they are priced out of the transfer itself. With Arsene Wenger famous for refusing to overspend, Arsenal will need to get the transfers done before the World Cup starts to ensure that there is an improvement from the side from last season. We at Soccersouls have a look at the three players Arsenal should sign before the World Cup starts-

1. Serge Aurier: With Bacary Sagna leaving at the end of this season Arsenal needs a replacement right back who can perform at the top level. While Carl Jenkinson is an option, chances are that Arsene Wenger will look for another right back somewhere else. At the moment Arsenal are keeping tabs on the the 21 year old defender Serge Aurier who plays for the Ligue 1 club Serge Toulouse. While Serge Aurier is still not under the radar of clubs like Chelsea and Manchester United, all that could change rapidly if he impresses at the 2014 World Cup for Ivory Coast. Sege Aurier, a versatile right back who can also play as a left back, can be had from Toulouse for as low as £7 million right now.

2. Julian Draxler: With Arsenal being linked with the winger for better part of the January transfer window, there are some people who believe that Arsenal have now lost the chance to sign him as other big clubs like Bayern Munich and Manchester City are in the market for him now as well. However one thing that almost everyone agrees is if Julian Draxler has an impressive showing in the 2014 World Cup, the asking price for the German will reach sky high which the North London club will very simply put not pay. If Arsenal are truly desperate to sign Draxler they need to get the job done before the World Cup begins.

3. Adam Lallana: The English man has had a fine season for Southampton and Liverpool already made a £20 million bid for the rising star and reportedly, Saints want much more money for their star man.  A good World Cup for Lallana for Roy Hodgson’s England will mean that Southampton will increase the asking price of even more. A tricky winger who has experience in Premier League football will be a perfect fit for Arsenal who can hit the ground running for the North London club. However if Arsenal are truly serious about the transfer they need to get their ducks in row before the World Cup starts.
