3 Individual Performances From The EUROS That Should Interest Manchester United And Jose Mourinho This Summer

Share

Jose Mourinho will begin another chapter his managerial career when he takes over the reins of Manchester United for the first time in the Community shield against Leicester City. However he knows that if United are going to get out of the rut they find themselves in after the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson then he must sign players who can help the Red Devils in getting back to the top. He has not wasted any time in bringing out the check book and has already singed Eric Bailly from Villarreal for a sum, which is believed to be worth £30million.

Mourinho will be keenly watching the European Championship currently underway in France, to find players who can improve United and help the team in getting its mojo back, which seems to have disappeared under the leadership of Mourinho’s two predecessors. Many players have caught the attention of the world with excellent performances in the first week, and the United manager will want to make sure that he is first in line to buy these players. This might just be the toughest task that the Portuguese has had to face in his career till now; United fans are relying on him to bring the glory days back to Old Trafford. Here is a list of three players who could be perfect for the Mourinho revolution at Manchester United.

Dimitri Payet (France)

Fans across the world witnessed the master class Payet has given in the two matches the host nation France has played till now. Although getting him might be a bit difficult but the truth is any team in England could do with a world class talent like him in their squad right now.  Football scouts across Europe will be scratching their head at how they managed to miss such a talented and gifted player, who only last year signed for West Ham United from Ligue 1 and quickly became the signing of the season. Mourinho won’t find too many options that possess Payets dribbling skills and shooting power. If he does manage to get him from the Hammers then it could prove to be the signing that changed United’s season.

Jerome Boateng (Germany)

One of the main areas where Mourinho will be looking for enforcement is the centre back position and one player who has been excellent over the past week at the Euros is the Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng. Few defenders in world football, possess such an ability to rescue their team with last-ditch heroism, like Boateng did against Ukraine. An outstanding performer in 2014’s final against Argentina, the former Manchester City player looks to have brought his A-game to France.

Gareth Bale (Wales)

All of the attention on Wales before Euro 2016 was on Gareth Bale, but there was little chance that the Real Madrid star would shy away from the challenge. After two matches, it is very much clear that if Wales are going to further in the tournament they will need their star player to be firing on all cylinders. There were a lot of rumors last summer linking Bale with a move to United, however it never materialized. There are very few clubs capable of buying the world’s most expensive player but United surely have the funds to secure his services from the Champions League winners.
