3 Chelsea Players Who Should Be Shown The Exit Door This Summer: Bye Bye To The Vice Captain?

Share

The Champions of England have taken an almighty fall this season and there is no recovering from that. Chelsea lie 13th in the table and are 17 points behind Manchester City who are in fourth position, barring a miracle they wouldn’t make it into the Champions League and it would be extremely hard for the Blues to even make it to the Europa League spots.

While the entire season has been regarding Jose Mourinho’s incredible meltdown at a club that was supposed to be his home, a bit of the blame also goes on the players for not doing their bit of playing to their ability.

Only Willian was the saving grace for the team that has played miserably for a good part of the season and Guus Hiddink’s time has shown that players can do the right things if given the right sort of coaching.

However there are a few players who cannot be saved from the chopping block that is sure to roll next season. Here are three players who should be sold in the next transfer window.

Branislav Ivanovic

An obvious choice at the moment, Ivanovic hasn’t had the greatest of seasons for the Blues and his start to this campaign was atrocious as he was gutted inside-out by most wingers in the Premier League. The Serbian’s lack of pace was exploited a lot and although he has put in a few good shifts since Guus Hiddink took over the club that hasn’t helped him all that much.

Ivanovic does not look like the player who was a rock for the Chelsea defence last season and the sooner the 31-year-old leaves Chelsea, the better it would be for them.

Loic Remy

There isn’t much wrong with Remy to be perfectly honest, the only problem is that he will never really get a lot of chances to show his ability at the club. The French striker has only played 42 games over two years at the club, mostly making appearances as a substitute and has only 12 goals at his spell at the club.

Remy is 29-years-old at the moment and he was in line to make a move to Aston Villa in the January transfer window but that did not take place. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see this transfer take place in the summer; well at least Remy moving away from the club would take place soon.

Victor Moses

Again another player who might be at the wrong club, Victor Moses did sign a new contract at the start of the season but was sent away on loan once again at West Ham. Ever since the talented winger signed for Chelsea from Wigan Athletic, he has spent a lot of time away on loan.

This might be a ploy by Chelsea to raise his value and sell him later for a bigger fee but it doesn’t help Moses. Chelsea though could make a lot of money by selling him in the next window but who would be willing to take the plunge on a player who hasn’t really done much to justify his talent.
