3 Best Brendan Rodgers Replacements Whom Liverpool Management Should Look to Sign

Share

The first managerial sack wasn’t an unexpected one, the only issue regarding this was the timing of the deed. Liverpool parted ways with Brendan Rodgers after the 1-1 draw with rivals Everton. This was the fifth 1-1 draw for Liverpool in their last six games and it continued their rather slow start to the season.

Rodgers though didn’t seem worried about his position at the club, but the owners didn’t believe in the Northern Irishman anymore and they have set out to find a replacement for the man who almost took Liverpool to the Premier League title a couple of seasons ago.

Liverpool might be a popular team due to their rich history, but a lot of work has to be done if they are to even think about qualifying for the Champions League. The Reds will be hopeful for a manager who can bring the glory days back at the club and we look at the three managers who could be lined up for the job.

Jurgen Klopp

The favourite for the vacancy, Klopp was targeted y the Liverpool hierarchy before they signed Rodgers. Klopp did not want to leave his beloved Dortmund back then but has been on a sabbatical since he left the post at Dortmund last season.

Jurgen Klopp

The man who broke the Bayern stronghold with two Bundesliga titles and a visit to the Champions League final, his team is known for fast-paced attacking and pressing football style. Liverpool would be an ideal place for the German to return to management, but he would be expected to miraculously take Liverpool into the top four, any manager taking over the club would be expected to get into the top four with the other clubs floundering about.

Carlo Ancelotti

A three-time Champions League winner as manager Carlo Ancelotti’s resume speaks a lot and you don’t really have to say much about the Italian. He might have been fired from Real Madrid after failing to land a La Liga title, but he did take the Galacticos to their 10th European title.

Carlo Ancelotti

Ancelotti knows English football really well having coached Chelsea to a League and FA Cup win, but he was sacked by the club as well. It is unknown how fit he is at the moment, as he had gone under the knife after the Real Madrid job, but he exudes class and could be the one who takes Liverpool to their glory days.

Frank de Boer

The former Barcelona defender has been doing a great job at Ajax, he has helped them to four Eredivisie titles and is seen as the dark horse for the post. De Boer would be a popular choice thanks to his ability to work with young players and a tight budget.

Frank de Boer

De Boer though has no experience of working in England and that could be a stumbling block if he is expected to take over the job. De Boer has won the Dutch league in all but one of the seasons he has been there and that could make him a great choice, especially since he is the youngest of the trio.
