2 signings who can propel Watford to a Europa League finish this season including Bournemouth’s rising star

2 players who will provide Watford with the depth they need to break into the top-6

Watford have been a sort of revelation this term. After going on a 4-game winning streak at the start of the season, they weren’t able to keep up the pace after the first international break of the season.

They have already notched up 25 goals this term, with the majority of the goals coming from the midfield. Troy Deeney, Andre Gray and Stefano Okaka are the 3 natural strikers that Watford have available.

Between the three, Gray and Deeney have both scored 3 goals each while Okaka has only made 2 appearances all season. Taking a tactical look at the Watford striking options will clarify that all three strikers have rather similar strengths and skill sets.

All three are tall, physically dominating strikers who play the role of a target man for Watford and are adept at scoring headers and volleys inside the box.

Issac Success, Gerard Deulofeu and Roberto Pereyra have all been excellent on the flanks this term and a central striker to add to that would make this a very complete outfit.

Dwight Gayle – West Bromwich Albion (on loan)

In the three strikers that Watford have available to them, none of them is overly fast or mobile. They’re big and dominant strikers who like to make their presence felt in and around the box. Javi Garcia needs a variation in his style of attack for Watford to remain potent throughout the term.

With top quality premier league experience gained at Newcastle, Dwight Gayle currently plies his trade in the 2nd tier of English football at West Bromwich Albion on loan.

Fast, mobile and tricky on the ball, Gayle also has a belter of a strike in his locker. His movement and finesse of touch could be the perfect variation that Watford need. With the likes of Pereyra and Deulofeu playing behind him, he could absolutely tear the scoring sheets apart.

David Brooks – Bournemouth

In Will Hughes and Abdoulaye Doucoure, Watford have found 2 very strong and charismatic midfielders who would be willing to work their socks off in the middle of the park to keep the game ticking when in possession and to work out the spaces and win the ball back when not.

But they really do lack an attack-minded midfielder like a Pogba or a Silva. This is where David Brooks could be a majestic signing for Watford.

Calm and collected while on the ball, Brooks is more than capable of finding some splendid balls to switch the play but when he does not see another option, he isn’t afraid to take on a shot or have a run at the defence. A player with that attitude could go a long way by playing for a team with so much quality on the flanks.
