Two Players Who Could Leave Hull City In The Summer

Having lost such valuable players as Sam Clucas, Harry Maguire, Andy Robertson, Tom Huddlestone and Curtis Davies, Hull City’s position has become perilous and it’s not beyond the realms of possibility that both they and Sunderland could face the prospect of successive relegations, having been in the Premier League only last season.

The Tigers have been in awful form this season and having lost beleaguered manager Leonid Slutsky before bringing in Nigel Adkins, their fortunes on the pitch really haven’t changed an awful lot.

Despite a crucial win against Sheffield United, the club sit just two points above the relegation zone in 20^th position and it’s not where most people thought they would be this term.

With all that said, however, they do have a couple of shining lights in the squad and even if they survive the season with their Championship status intact, it’s hard to imagine their very best players sticking around for too long.

Some of their standout performers may well be on the move then with these two right at the top of the list:

Abel Hernandez

The 27-year-old forward has only managed three appearances this season due to an Achilles tendon surgery but his hat-trick in the early season 4-1 win against Burton Albion showcased his talent.

Hernandez is an Uruguay international with 11 goals for his country and on paper, is a very attractive proposition for clubs of a much higher standing than Hull City. Despite their work in bringing him back to health, he is highly unlikely to want to play in the lower reaches of the Championship let alone League One, and so a move is on the cards.

Jarrod Bowen

The 21-year-old winger has burst into this side with a vengeance since being given his chance, largely because of relegation, and with 12 goals in 28 Championship starts, he has contributed more than just about anyone else.

Playing as a modern right-winger, i.e. a left-footed player who loves to cut inside, Bowen has been truly outstanding this season and I’m sure that the young man will come to the realisation that he may well have a very good future ahead of him in the game and that he won’t progress playing for this current Hull City incarnation.

I feel that a move to a top end Championship side could be on the cards in the summer and at least Hull can expect to get a good transfer fee for him.
