Two Players Who Could Leave Chelsea In The Summer

Following a surreal debut season under Antonio Conte, last season, where Chelsea secured their fourth Premier League title, the Italian’s second season in charge has grown to be a problematic one for the club, as it seems.

Currently lavishing in 5th position, the Blues are struggling even to get into the top four this season. The London giants could also run the risk of missing out on Champions League action next season, should they fail to rectify their poor form.

But one way or another, the fate of head coach Antonio Conte is pretty much decided it seems. The Italian is very unlikely to stay at Chelsea next season, with the Blues already looking out for potential replacements, meaning we could witness a huge squad overhaul in the summer.

In this article, we will talk about two players who are destined to leave the Stamford Bridge in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Kenedy

Currently out on loan at Newcastle United, Kenedy’s future with Chelsea seems rather bleak, considering the fact that Brazilian has had a real tough time dealing with Antonio Conte. Despite his expected departure in the summer, Kenedy hasn’t been impressive enough to gain a call-up from the London giants next season.

With Chelsea securing the services of Emerson from AS Roma in January, Kenedy’s chances of finding proper game time with the Blues is incredibly low.

This points to the fact that the former Watford talent will likely be sold permanently to Newcastle United this summer and for good reasons too, as the 22-year-old has been a key component in Rafa Benitez’s squad since joining them earlier this year.

Kenedy is valued at £6.3m, which is a snip in the market for Newcastle United, should they manage to stay in the top-flight next season.

Cesc Fabregas

Despite being widely regarded as one of the best Spanish midfielders of his generation, Cesc Fabregas’ future at Chelsea could be in doubt next season, following a disappointing season so far.

The former Arsenal midfielder has failed to make an impact for Chelsea this season, largely due to Antonio Conte’s dynamic footballing philosophy. Fabregas lacks the mobility to thrive alongside N’Golo Kante in central midfield, meaning he’s not suited for Chelsea’s aggressive playing style.

Although he may be much more useful for a new manager next season, his chances of leaving Stamford Bridge in the summer are definitely high, considering the fact that Manchester United are reportedly hunting for a central midfielder, with Cesc Fabregas being a candidate. Moving to Old Trafford could be a logical decision for the Spanish International.

Not only can he re-unite with his former boss Jose Mourinho but he will also be an integral part of United’s philosophy, especially with the likes of Ander Herrera and Marouna Fellaini being hugely linked with a departure this summer.
