124 Goals In 255 Appearances, Why This Beast Striker Would Ideal For Arsenal Or Liverpool

Share

Transfer rumors are like bad scars, they just don’t go away, no matter how much you try to hide them. One transfer rumor that just does not go away is the Karim Benzema to leave Real Madrid rumor. The Frenchman who joined Real Madrid from French club Lyon in 2009 has scored 124 goals in 255 appearances for Los Blancos but for some reason, he is also subject to a transfer away from the Bernebau.

With the January transfer window coming up, there are rumors being sent that Karim may be ready to move away from the Madrid club, the 26 year old would be an amazing buy for almost any club in the world. He is one of the best finishers in the game and can create options for other players as well, he may not be the best with regards to defensive duties but his pace and ability to hit on the counter is a trait that most teams would love to have.

Karim Benzema has started this season on fire for Real Madrid, Cristiano Ronaldo might be leading the goal scoring charts but the Frenchman is doing pretty well to keep in contact with the Portuguese. Benzema has scored 13 goals in 16 appearances for Real and has also provided 6 assists for the club, with that sort of contribution, any club wanting to buy him would have to pay big bucks.

England calling?

Inevitably there are some English clubs linked with Benzema, the same clubs which were being linked with him a few months ago. Arsenal and Liverpool both have been linked with the French striker and he could finally move across the channel and play in the Premier League, there are very few clubs out there who could break the bank and sign the player.

Liverpool are a club whose problems are well known by everyone this season. They do not have a striker who can make the same runs and movement like Luis Suarez could, Balotelli might be a decent signing but he doesn’t provide them the mobility or threat that Daniel Sturridge or Suarez did. Sturridge being injured for a good part of the season, Liverpool need to have a striker who can play and fit into the team easily. Karim Benzema would be a fantastic addition to the team; he would provide Liverpool the quality movement that they have lacked in the attacking front.

The other club who are targeting Benzema are Arsenal; the Gunners are in need of another striker to fill the void often left by Olivier Giroud who missed a chunk of this season with injury. Danny Welbeck was brought in to provide cover but he was deployed on the left wing in the last game against West Bromwich Albion and with Lucas Podolski not living up to expectations, the German could be shipped out from the Emirates.

Arsenal have a couple of youngsters waiting in the wings like Campbell and Sanogo but they need a little time to develop and should be loaned out to other Premier League clubs to gain some valuable experience. Benzema would actually fit right in Arsenal as well, they don’t play exactly like Real but will love a striker who can provide similar movement when compared to Giroud and the team can provide a lot of chances to Benzema, who can reciprocate the same for his team mates.

Whichever club decides to go for the French striker, they would be getting one of the best finishers in the game. Benzema is lethal in front of goal but more than that he can make a pass and play others through on goal, it is just because he is at Real Madrid that he is outshone by other players, at any other club, he would be an asset that would not be sold so easily.
