10 Goals, 5 Assists – Why A New Deal For This Explosive Attacker Will Be Key For Arsenal’s Future

Share

There’s always a guy that stands out of the most even when teams are having an outstanding performance overall, and you know that losing that key piece could make absolutely everything fall apart even despite having other great and outstandingly talented players on the roster.

That’s exactly what is happening with Alexis Sanchez at Arsenal, as the Chilean has been the best guy on the pitch for the Gunners since he arrived from Barcelona, and he’s probably the main responsible for the great season they’re having in the 20th year of Arsene Wenger’s reign over the North London institution.

But now, it seems like Alexis’ career as a Gunner is halted as the contract talks have been stalled even despite being considered as a fan favourite and having unarguably the best season of his career. He is stalling his contract renovation talks and the Gunners should be extremely worried if this situation doesn’t get solved anytime soon. But the recent reports have suggested that Wenger is confident about Alexis Sanchez signing a new contract at Arsenal.

Well, we all hope the same.

Alexis is only 27 years old, so he could still provide a lot of help for the team for several years to come, so their main priority needs to be the renovation of the forward in order to keep him in north London for the long run, and we’ll tell you just why.

Words can lie but numbers can’t so let’s take a look at some stats that will definitely clarify why Arsenal can’t allow the loss of Alexis Sanchez at any cost.

The Chilean has scored 10 goals to go along with 5 assists in 17 appearances so far this season while completing over 80 percent of his passes, creating a lot of opportunities for his teammates while owning a shot accuracy of over 60% and a dribbling success of 75%, owning an overall player rating of 7.89 out of 10.

On top of that, he’s been the third-best player in the entire League so far this season (in terms of stats), trailing only Philippe Coutinho, whom we believe he’ll overcome in a couple of weeks due to his ankle injury, and Chelsea’s Eden Hazard, a player who has been on a superhuman level since the start of the season.

Sanchez has created 30 opportunities so far in just 13 Premier League matches, creating over 2 per game and becoming the most dangerous guy on the opposing box, being able to play both inside or outside of it.

Also, the Chilean has been the perfect replacement for Arsenal’s flop Olivier Giroud, as Wenger has finally found the perfect formula to become a menace for opposing defences combining Mesut Ozil and Theo Walcott with Sanchez, and  they could struggle mightily if the game changer makes a move elsewhere.

Wenger has always been firmly criticized for his lack of trophies, and even if this one might as well be the last season of the Frenchman in front of the Gunners, he knows that he needs to convince Alexis to stay at the club if they want to break the title drought this year or the next one.
