Predicted Real Madrid Lineup To Face Villarreal In The La Liga

Real Madrid will look to get back to winning ways, when they face off against Villarreal in the La Liga, at the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday.

The reigning La Liga champions find themselves way behind leaders Barcelona, sitting 4th with a 16-point deficit, with a game in hand. Zinedine Zidane’s side come into the game on the back of two consecutive 2-2 draws, against Celta Vigo in the league last weekend and then against Numancia in the Copa Del Rey during the midweek.

The manager will be hoping that his side avoids dropping more points when they clash against the Yellow Submarine at home this weekend.

Team News

The reigning La Liga champions are going to be without the services of captain Sergio Ramos who is out for 2-3 weeks with a muscle problem. Striker Karim Benzema is also unavailable.

Formation: 4-3-1-2

Manager: Zinedine Zidane

Keylor Navas (GK)

The Costa Rican international will get back into the starting XI, after sitting out of the midweek cup game.

Dani Carvajal (RB)

The Spaniard was suspended for the last league game, but will be available for selection now and should start on Saturday.

Raphael Varane (CB)

The Frenchman will come back into the fray for the game against Villarreal, after having not played a single minute during the midweek.

Dani Carvajal

Nacho (CB)

With Sergio Ramos a doubt, Varane is likely to be partnered by academy graduate Nacho in the heart of the defence.

Marcelo (LB)

Having sat out of the midweek encounter, Brazilian left-back Marcelo should return to the starting setup, in place of Theo Hernandez.

Luka Modric (CM)

The Croatian international is one of the best in the business in his position. Will have a big role to play if Madrid are to get back to winning ways.

Casemiro (CM)

Zidane’s trusted lieutenant, Brazilian midfielder Casemiro should, as usual, occupy the holding role in the middle of the park against Villarreal.

Toni Kroos (CM)

Completing the midfield trident for the Galacticos should be former Bayern Munich star Toni Kroos. His set-piece delivery and the control that he offers in the midfield will be crucial.

Isco

Isco (CAM)

The Spanish playmaker made an appearance from the bench on Wednesday night against Numancia. Should get the nod on Saturday, in the hole behind the forwards.

Gareth Bale (ST)

The Welshman has netted thrice in his last two appearances for Madrid. Will look to add more to his tally, against Villarreal.

Cristiano Ronaldo (ST)

The Portuguese maverick hasn’t had the best of the seasons in front of goal in the La Liga. Would be keen on changing that with a strong performance on Saturday.
