Predicted Real Madrid Lineup To Face Leganes In La Liga

Real Madrid travel to Leganes in order to complete the game in hand as they seek a third place finish in the La Liga ladder. The game is set to take place on Wednesday at the Estadio Municipal de Butarque. The Galacticos are back in full flow and have won four out of their previous five games, excluding the Champions League triumph against PSG.

Although this match comes a touch earlier, one can expect Real Madrid to take away all three points against 13th placed Leganes, who are winless in three, having collected just one point in that period.

Team News

Marcelo joins the list of injuries. He twitched his hamstring in the previous game but should return within a week. Toni Kroos picked up an unfortunate injury against PSG and will remain sidelined. Jesus Vallejo remains a cast-away.

Probable Real Madrid XI

Zidane has fine replacements and will fit them in the structure that has been working in the recent past for them. After putting up a fabulous performance against Betis, it is highly likely that the wing duo of Asensio and Vazquez will feature again. However, Madrid will be aiming for a faster, energetic start, unlike their previous display.

Manager: Zinedine Zidane

Formation: 4-4-2

GK: Keylor Navas

The shot-stopper has been near perfect and tidy with his glove work. He will start in goal.

RB: Daniel Carvajal

The pace, work-rate and optimism of Carvajal should be seen at right-back.

CB: Sergio Ramos

Ramos’ defensive work has tightened up a few screws at the back and as usual, he will be an attacking threat in set-piece situations.

Sergio Ramos

CB: Raphael Varane

Varane should replace the exposed Nacho, as he reads the game well, closes gaps quickly and is a towering presence in the air.

LB: Theo Hernandez

A sure starter, Theo Hernandez will try his best to match the energy and perfection that Marcelo illustrates at left-back.

RM: Lucas Vazquez

Vazquez should start on the right-hand side of the midfield. He is in sublime form and gels well with the fullback and the strikers.

CM: Luka Modric

Modric should return to the starting lineup after he was rested last time out. He adds the extra work-rate and is one of the best passers around.

CDM: Casemiro

The solid and disciplined Casemiro will play in central midfield, starting as the deepest of midfielders.

Cristiano Ronaldo

LM: Marco Asensio

With all his pace, mobility, movement and creativity with the ball, Marco Asensio is ready to go again on the left-wing and provide the goods.

ST: Cristiano Ronaldo

Having got his goalscoring form back, Ronaldo will be in line to destroy the Los Legionarios defence. He will play ahead of his striking partner and get in behind the defence.

ST: Karim Benzema

Bale was lacklustre against Betis and is mostly going to drop to the bench. This only means that Karim Benzema would fill the striker’s role alongside Cristiano Ronaldo.
