Chelsea were strongly linked with a move for Juventus defender Bonucci and after the deal failed to materialize, the club has now shifted their focus on Valencia defender Shokdran Mustafi.
According to The Express, the Blues were positive on Bonucci especially considering that the Old Lady has recently signed Mehdi Benatia but Juventus refused to sell Bonucci to Chelsea. The Blues are looking to strengthen their squad and with Antonio Conte’s arrival, are spending no time in signing players. A defender is high n priority for Conte and while Bonucci deal face a dead end, the club has turned their attention to Mustafi.
The 24 year old player used to play for Everton before he moved to Valencia and is familiar with the style of play at Premier League. The player is valued in the region of £25 million but with Valencia in a financial crisis, the club could be willing to sell Mustafi for lesser.
