Draxler Or Higuain: The Player Arsenal Need The Most?

With Chelsea and Manchester United done with buying a striker, the London club Arsenal is still struck in the trauma of Arsene Wenger; whether to buy a striker or not. The French manager, Arsene Wenger has been heavily criticized in the recently years due to his dullness in the transfer activities. The fans and even the current situation of the club demand a new player, but Wenger has set his mind to save the capital of the club.

The recent form of their current striker Olivier Giroud has surely given Wenger a severe headache, but now it seems like the Frenchman is ready to spend big. Well, this is the every season’s story that world class strikers gets linked with a move to Emirates, but at the last moment of the period, the deal somehow fails to materialize.

There is no different story this time, as the 28-year-old Argentine striker Gonzalo Higuain has been yet again rumored to be joining the Gunners. Back in 2013, due to the availability of Higuain, Wenger tried to sign him up and many reports claimed that the player is close to become a Gunner, but at the last moment, the Argentine backed up and joined the Italian side Napoli to leave Arsene Wenger red faced.

And now, according to the reports from Sky Sports, Arsenal have revived their interest to sign the player, and many believes that he is not the only target for Wenger. The Guardian has reported Wenger is ready to acquire the signature of the 22-year-old German international Julian Draxler, who is also a reported target of the fellow English side Manchester United.

Now, with two players already linked, Wenger will have to decide who will be the perfect option for the club.

Firstly talking statistically, Draxler played 21 games for his side Wolfsburg last season and in his number of appearance, he scored five goals and bagged five assists. On the other hand, Higuain played every single game for Napoli, but three and in his campaign, he scored 36 goals and bagged two assists to his name and ended his campaign being a top scorer of Serie A.

Now, talking about individuals; Jualian Draxler played a major role for Wolfsburg last season as the Germans defeated Real Madrid in the first leg of the quarter finals of the Champions League. Julian is known for his pace and his maturity in the game and just due to that, he was chosen over Mario Gotze by Germany’s manager Joachim Low in EURO 2016.

Higuain, on the other hand, is a pure goal poacher, who loves to combine with his team mates to create a move. 36 goals in Serie A last season was the perfect example of what kind of damage he could do the opposition. Higuain loves to score goals and that is what Arsenal is in need of. Giroud is a good striker, but he suffers due to his inconsistency and that’s why he is often criticized by the supporters.

As I’ve stated earlier, what Arsenal need is a goal scorer because they already have players like Sanchez, Ozil and Iwobi to create the chances and buying Draxler into the squad will only make the team more congested, and therefore, if Wenger wants to make a choice between Draxler and Higuain, then Higuain is the only answer.
