If the reports from Mirror.co.uk are to be believed, Premier League giants Arsenal have sent their scouts to keep tabs on Bayer Leverkusen’s German midfielder Lars Bender. The 26-year-old German international was part of the Bayer team, which lost 1-0 to Serie A outfit Lazio in their Europa League playoff.
Gunners’ boss Arsene Wenger has been keen on strengthening his midfield and has been looking to add more cover to Francis Coquelin, who has been superb since his return to the Emirates. On the other hand, the midfielder was linked with a move to the Emirates previously as well, as the French manager is still looking for the right kind of player for his squad.
Representatives from the north London club were keeping tabs on Bender, as per a recent report by Tuttermercato. Wenger has been clear about his intention of posing a better challenge for the league title this term and will look to add the high-quality superstar to his current squad in order to do so.
