World Cup All Star XI Featuring Liverpool And Chelsea Stars

Share

Its April, and its the Business end of the season. Although much of the attention in the football world is concentrated on English Premier League and the La Liga and the nail biting title race, it cannot be forgotten that the World Cup is not far away. Today we make a list of an all star team that would be featuring in the World Cup.

Manuel Neuer: The Bayern and Germany player has been in tremendous form and can be said with certainty the best shot stopper at the moment. He is one of the factors that Bayern are showing the invincible form and Neuer should play a big role in the World Cup as well.

Philipp Lahm: Pep Guardiola has given him the job that Busquets did at Barca and he is doing it with aplomb. Lahm is one of the finest wing-backs and he fully deserves his place in this team.

Vincent Kompany: The Rolls Royce defender, as he is known to be, will play a big role for his country Belgium and the Manchester City skipper has the elegance and the class unmatched to none in modern day football. Kompany is an inevitable addition to this list.

Thiago Silva: PSG man Silva will be the rock in the Brazil defence and if he shows the kind of form that he has been displaying all season, then it will be very difficult to go past the Brazil backline. Silva also has the attacking tendency, so vital to the Brazilian way of playing.

Leighton Baines: A bit controversial choice, but based on his maturity and his ability to rise up to the big occasions we suppose Baines would play a vital role for the English team. A brilliant performance in the World Cup could also mean interests from the premier clubs of Europe.

Xavi: We admit that Spain are not the same force that they once were, but their midfield still has the capability to topple any top sides of the world. This would be the last world cup for the Spanish legend which would work as an added motivation to help his team lift the coveted trophy.

Bastian Schweinsteiger: One of the finest players of the game, Schweinsteiger would be charged up to lead his nation to glory for the first time since 1990 after leading his club Bayern for the past couple of years.

Eden Hazard: The Chelsea star will be the main attraction for the Dark Horse Belgium in this World Cup. The winger would have to play to his true potential if Belgium are to overcome the odds and rub shoulders with the stalwarts.

Lionel Messi: The whole world will be looking forward to the impact that Messi would have on Argentina. It would be an opportunity for Messi to shut his critics up and prove his mettle in an Argentine jersey, something which he has failed to do in the past.

Cristiano Ronaldo: The Portuguese star will be charged up after receiving his second Ballon d’Or and prove to the world that he can be equally effective for Portugal as he normally is for his club Real Madrid.

Luis Suarez: After having a dream season, Liverpool star Suarez became indivisible to this list. Uruguay will be hoping that Suarez has the same effect at the World Cup as he has had for the Reds and help to achieve the glory single-handedly.

A 4-2-3-1 formation with Ronaldo playing in his favoured left wing role and Hazard from the right, while Lionel Messi in the center. The Argentine has been usually deployed in a role just behind the striker for his national team which justifies his spot behind Suarez in the attacking quartet.
