With Rumours About Kenny Miller’s Future, Here Are His Top 5 Moments With Rangers And Celtic

Kenny Miller

Kenny Miller has had some career in Scotland, there’s no doubt about that! After starting his career with Hibernian, Miller went on to have 3 spells at Rangers and even one at Celtic too.

He’s had plenty of big moments to look back on, but here we pick 5 of the best he will surely remain proud of:

Celtic v Rangers, October 2010

Both teams arrived for this game having won their first 7 matches of the season. No one wanted a draw, not neutrals anyway, as whoever won was about to set a new record and to do it in an Old Firm game would be fantastic!

Celtic were 1-0 up at half time and seemed to be on their way to the win, only for Kenny Miller to score twice in a 3-1 win for the Gers.

Celtic v Rangers, August 2008

Having just signed for Rangers for the second time and being booed by the home support he used to play in front of, Miller scored a cracking volley in a huge 4-2 away win for the Ibrox side.

Premier League Title, 2007

Miller may only have been at Celtic for one season, but it was a memorable one. Celtic retained the Scottish title and won the Scottish Cup too. Kenny didn’t have his best domestic season that year and left shortly afterwards, but he still has those winners medals and managed 8 Champions League goals too.

Rangers v Celtic, April 2016

Rangers were still a Championship team when they reached the Scottish Cup semi-final in 2016.  Playing against Old Firm rivals and massive favourites Celtic at Hampden Park, not many gave Rangers much of a chance. Their performance, however, was fantastic on the day, Kenny Miller scoring the first goal in an impressive 2-2 draw.

Extra time was needed and in fact, the game went all the way to penalties, Rangers eventually victorious 5-4 in the shoot-out to spark huge celebrations for Miller and Co. He also managed to score in the final that year; however that was in what became a disappointing 3-2 defeat against Hibernian.

Rangers’ last title, 2011

Winning 30 of their 38 games that year, the brilliant Walter Smith was in charge when Rangers won their last Premiership title, for now at least.

Although Kenny Miller went on to leave in January to go to Turkey, he had played 18 games and scored an incredible 21 goals in a successful title challenge, providing him with another medal. Not settling in Turkey, Miller would eventually find his way back to Rangers to help them in their quest to come back to the top division following the demotion.
