Will This £7.9million Rated Barcelona Ace Give Sterling A Run For His Money At Liverpool?

Liverpool have completed their first objective of the season when they qualified for the Champions League beating Norwich 3-2. Now they have to win their next games afnd seal the championship ahead of Chelsea and City.

But they will also have to keep an eye on the summer transfer business that they have to conduct soon after the World Cup gets over and make a squad that will be able to handle the pressure of the extra matches that come with the Champions League. With European football in store again and an impressive run the league, it should not be a problem for Liverpool if they decide to spend the money needed.

£7.9 million rated Barcelona winger Cristian Tello has emerged as a realistic target for Liverpool and if Rodgers manages to bring him, which would be a move of intent from the Liverpool camp, who have failed to bring in a decent name for sometime now. Tello is one of the more talented Barcelona products and has already shown glimpses of his potential at the senior level. But with a team which features names such as Alexis Sanchez and Pedro on the bench, Tello would really make it difficult to make it to the playing eleven on a regular basis. Here comes Liverpool, who can offer him regular action on the field and also who can get him at a cheap rate.

Raheem Sterling, Jordan Henderson and Coutinho have all been used in the wings by Rodgers at different point of the season and the team has managed to scrape through with them. He has good pace and has shown enough strength in his game, qualities which Liverpool would be happy to use in him.

However, the biggest problem that Liverpool might have to face in the transfer of Tello from Barcelona is the transfer ban that the Catalan club is facing for alleged misconduct in their dealings. Liverpool are still confident that they would be able to go forward with the deal of Tello, but that would only happen if some kind of exceptions are made for Barcelona. However, latest reports from Mirror suggests that Barcelona will appeal against the year-long transfer ban imposed by FIFA.

But whatever be the outcome, Liverpool should try and bring a player of Tello’s class to the Merseyside club at any cost and should look at all possible scopes for making the deal happen.
