Why Tottenham Should Not Allow Arsenal To Sign This £35m Rated Speed Merchant

Arsenal FC are preparing for a difficult second half of their season with the London club set to lose their most prized possession, Alexis Sanchez in the January transfer window. The Chilean superstar pushed hard for a move to Manchester City in the summer but the Gunners who couldn’t manage get the deal done in time.

After failing to convince Sanchez to sign a new contract, Arsene Wenger has now turned his attention to Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha. (Source: Sun) The 25-year-old could be the ideal replacement for Sanchez and help propel Arsenal FC to win major trophies again.

But, there is another club in the Premier League looking to lure the young Ivorian to their team and they are none other than Tottenham Hotspur. Arsenal’s main rival club are reportedly also interested in Zaha with Pochettino extremely impressed with the quality he could add to the Spurs squad.

Zaha has been really impressive for Crystal Palace over the last two seasons and has been the clubs only saving grace this season. Palace are currently at the bottom of the Premier League table with just 1 win in 11 games and have already sacked Frank de Boer in September.

Roy Hodgson was brought in to replace the Dutchman but Palace have solely been dependent on Wilfried Zaha for the limited results they have had so far. Things could have been much better for Palace had Zaha not suffered an injury at the start of the season. The 25-year-old has only made 5 appearances for the Eagles this season.

It’s quite evident why both Spurs and Arsenal are interested in Zaha having already made a significant impact on the Palace side since his return. The former Manchester United man was responsible for Palace’s only win this season having scored the winner against Chelsea last month. Zaha also scored the last minute equaliser against West Ham United at Selhurst Park.

According to The Sun, Crystal Palace could a receive a bid around £35 million from Arsenal for the services of Zaha. And in that case, Spurs must challenge their local rivals even if it starts a bidding war.

However, Palace are unlikely to accept any bids in January with Zaha having signed a new 5-year-contract in the summer. However, Wilfried Zaha must look to improve his end product with the Ivorian consistently failing to find the net on many occasion despite creating plenty of chances for himself.

Spurs cannot let their rivals sign a prospect like Wilfried Zaha. For now, Zaha will look to enjoy the attention he’s been getting at Palace after his solo performances.
