The Red Devils badly need a breathe of fresh air following their run of unimpressive games of recent, and the winter transfer window in January represents a perfect opportunity to do exactly just that with some additional quality signings.

Manchester United are presently scouting Celtic striker Moussa Dembele as they consider adding him to their squad ahead of the 2nd half of the season. Zlatan Ibrahimovic goals have since dried up having netted once in his last 9 games in all competitions, and the club desperately needs a proven goalscorer, hence the Dembele’s monitoring.

But is the French youngster the perfect signing for Manchester United? In the presence of a watching Red Devils scout on Wednesday, the 20-year-old took his season tally up to 15 across all competitions, and that’s despite the fact that he only saw action for 32 minutes having come off from the bench to grab the 4th goal in the mauling of Ross County.

The goal is Moussa Dembele’s 7th league goal in the Scottish Premier League. And he isn’t just shining in a small league, the former Fulham youngster showed the watching world what he can do on the big stage a month ago.

Manchester City paid Parkhead a visit in matchday 2 of the UEFA Champions League, and having won all 10 of their games of the new season, it was expected to be a walk in park (no pun intended) for Pep Guardiola’s men. However, they got more than the bargained for and were lucky to leave Scotland with a solitary point.

A brace from the youngster had almost won the game for Brendan Rodger’s side, and his man-of-the-match performance shot his value up, with a lot of big sides set to challenge United for his signature come winter.

Since undergoing his early development at PSG and Fulham, Dembele has always proven to have a sharp eye for the goals, effectively combining his goal sense with his finishing abilities to carve a name for himself.

Following Fulham’s relegation to the Championship, a lot of sides tried to lure him away from the Craven Cottage having shown a lot of promises as a France youth international. But he stayed put to continue his development, and his growth could continue under Jose Mourinho next year as the club will likely give everything to land him.

Despite bagging 15 goals in 43 league appearances in his last season at Fulham having established himself as the undisputed starter at just 19, many of his Premier League suitors didn’t put in enough fight as Celtic prised him away for a £500,000 development fee on a 4-year deal.

Brendan Rodger’s first signing at Celtic doesn’t just score goals with wreckless abandon, he is the man for the big occasions. He scored the goal that put the Scottish giants through to the Champions League play-offs against Astana, and also helped put the 1st leg of the play-offs game against Hapoel Be’er Sheva to bed by getting the 4th goal in the 5 – 2 victory.

In a 5 – 1 win over rivals Rangers in the league, he scored Celtic’s first Old Firm derby league hat-trick since 1966. Having scored the winner against Alloa in the Scottish League Cup to send Celtic through to the semi-final, he once again put Rangers to the sword, scoring a late winner and only goal as the team secured a League Cup final berth.

If Moussa Dembele isn’t a perfect signing for Manchester United, who is? The Red Devils must do everything in their power to secure his services come January, he could be the one to fire them to a title victory and bring glory back to Old Trafford.
