Why Liverpool Are Better Off With This Youngster Than To Sign This Long Term Arsenal Target

Liverpool are resigned to losing Raheem Sterling, especially after the attacker failed to turn up for their pre-season training. While Sterling is more or less joining some other club, Liverpool do need to get a replacement in fast and unlike the Luis Suarez scenario, they need to know which player they should go for.

Liverpool have been keeping tabs on a lot of players, one being Pedro from Barcelona. The Spanish winger didn’t have the best of times last season as his place in the team was taken up by the goal scoring prowess of Luis Suarez. Pedro needs a new challenge and more importantly regular football and Liverpool can provide that for the Spaniard.

However, there are a few rumours that Pedro isn’t the first choice for Liverpool, they instead want to make a move for Denis Cheryshev, the Russian winger who plays for Real Madrid. He has been in the youth team for Madrid since 2002 and was then loaned out to Sevilla and Villareal where he has flourished for the team.

Real Madrid would want to have him back but lack of opportunities might be a factor for his future. Chryshev would be a better option than Pedro, especially because he is younger than Pedro by more than 3 years but also has played regularly for Villareal and Sevilla over the past couple of seasons.

Liverpool do not need to buy someone who is a luxury singing, especially after getting Roberto Firmino into the team. Chryshev is one of the fastest players out there and that would be a great asset for Liverpool. Pedro does seem to have lost a bit of pace especially after spending a lot of time on the bench for Barcelona. Pedro also isn’t known for his work rate to get the ball back if he loses it and that could be a big factor in the signature wanted by Liverpool.

Denis still has time to develop and that could be something that makes him a viable proposition for Brendan Rodgers. Pedro would have been a great signing if he had other players in the team to create but with the onus only on Coutinho and Firmino, Liverpool need to sign someone who can complement these two attackers and that player could be Chryshev. Young, fast and a threat to any attack, it will be worth keeping an eye out for what happens when Raheem Sterling does leave Liverpool.
