Why Emre Can Should Reject All Advances From Juventus And Stay Put At Juventus

Jurgen Klopp is having a torrid time this summer as he is yet to land two of his top transfer targets this summer. The likes of Virgil van Dijk and Naby Keita have eluded his grasp but that has not been the worst of the summer. The Reds are also in danger of losing two of their first team players in Philippe Coutinho and Emre Can this window.

The Brazil magician has reportedly submitted a transfer request, which Liverpool are still determined to turn down but his move to Barcelona does not look too far away from happening. To add to it, they are unable to tie down their first choice midfielder Emre Can to a new contract.

The German midfielder is in his final year at Anfield but is a settled figure, claiming a first team spot under Jurgen Klopp. However, his performances recently have seen Italian giants Juventus scout him for a move this summer.

Reports from Italy claim that Emre Can is now a priority transfer target for Juventus, who are ready to make a £23m  bid for his services, in the upcoming days. Certain reports also suggest that Can has rejected yet another contract offer. So, is the German midfielder right in trying to quit Anfield?

The lack of progress at the club in the last decade is very much damning and the fact that Can is yet to lift any silverware in his time in England will surely be playing on his mind. At 23, he stands as one of the most effective players in his position in Europe at the moment and was one of the best players in the final few months for Liverpool last season.

Slowly establishing himself in the national team as well, the versatile former Bayern star has 89 Premier League appearances and 15 national team appearances already. He is expected to be the first choice at Anfield alongside Jordan Henderson and is one of the favourite players of Liverpool’s German gaffer.

The chance of playing for the Italian champions will surely be a tempting one but Can is a genuinely important player to this Liverpool squad and has already established himself at the highest level. Moving to Turin might see him take a year or two to adjust but with the World Cup fast approaching, he is well advised to avoid such changes.

Playing under a manager like Klopp will also get the best out of him. Though he might earn a few extra quids in Italy, Anfield is a more productive hunting ground for the midfielder this season.
