Chelsea are heading into a new era forced by the loss of their talisman Eden Hazard and the transfer ban. Currently, they are being managed by a player who defined the early years of the Roman Abramovich era – namely, Frank Lampard.
It has seen them field one of the youngest sides in the Premier League this season. There’s a long-term approach and a few players might be unfortunate to be on the receiving end of an exit from the club.
The first of these casualties were experienced campaigner David Luiz, who has since moved to Arsenal.
Another one, who looks likely to follow suit, is French international Olivier Giroud, who has been linked with an exit after a report from the Metro stated that the Frenchman might join Major League Soccer.
Chelsea have currently got Tammy Abraham, who has gotten off to a fine start this season after struggling initially. He’s scored two braces against two of the promoted sides and it seems like that’s going to continue even though he struggled against the more physical defenders in the league – the likes of Virgil van Dijk and Harry Maguire.
Giroud has had to deputise for the youngster and is far better at holding up the ball and is, in fact, one of the best target-men in the league as he’s not only a goalscorer but also a fairly creative player. He was particularly effective in the Europa League last season, scoring an amazing 11 goals in the competition.
Giroud is one of the few experienced players in the side at 32 and is also a World Cup winner with 90 caps for the French national side, which is no mean feat.
He can still offer a lot to Chelsea as a plan B and the Blues would be foolish to let him go as Giroud has never lacked pace.

He’s also a good personality, who has always been commended by the managers he has played for and is the ultimate team player. Thus, Chelsea should hold onto him for as long as possible.
