Blackburn opinion: Rovers want Alex Rodriguez Gorrin – good move?

The Daily Record has revealed that Blackburn Rovers have joined the race for Motherwell star Alex Rodriguez Gorrin. A very versatile midfielder, the 25-year-old is currently at Motherwell and has been among their best players this season.

While he hasn’t really contributed with too many goals, Gorrin has been a big part of their team. A central midfielder by trade, the 25-year-old has played all over the field over the course of his career, making a move from Sepsi Sf. Gheorghe just before the start of the window.

Since then, Gorrin has been really good for the club, playing in 22 games so far this season. As mentioned, the 25-year-old can play as a number 10, as a defensive midfielder, as a second striker and on both wings.

While he did struggle initially, things changed once he adjusted to the Scottish Premiership.

Blackburn need a new central midfielder next season, especially given the state of their current team.

The Riversiders have just Corry Evans, Jack Rodwell, Jacob Davenport, Richard Smallwood and Ben Gladwin at their disposal. Both Rodwell and Davenport are new arrivals but have struggled to make too much off an impact.

Galdwin, on the other hand, has struggled with injuries, with Corry Evans and Joe Rothwell doing most of the work this season. Harrison Reed has played regularly this season but he is on loan from Southampton and will return to his parent club at the end of this season.

It shows why the club needs Alex Rodriguez Gorrin next summer. The 25-year-old has the ability to become a big part of the team.

But that is only if the Rovers make the first move, with the Daily Record further adding that the likes of Wigan Athletic and Millwall are in the race.
