After a seemingly lacklustre season so far, Liverpool are believed to be scanning the market for fresh winter recruits. 18-year-old Israeli wonderkid Manor Solomon has reportedly caught Jurgen Klopp’s fancy and the German gaffer could be looking to get the exciting talent to Anfield.
Known as the “Jewel of Israel”, Solomon has been earning rave reviews playing for Maccabi Petah Tikva, and has already been called up to the Israel national side. The teen sensation will be an interesting addition for any squad.
Let’s take a look at his profile.
Born in Kfar Saba, Manor Solomon has already established himself as an exciting young talent despite being only 18 years of age. He made his debut in November 2016 for Maccabi Petah Tikva during a League match against Hapoel Haifa, and has not looked back since.
It was only in the beginning of 2017 that Solomon bagged his debut career goal during the 2-0 win against Bnei Yehuda. Since then, he has recorded 4 goals in 29 appearances for the club. Despite the midfielder’s contributions, Maccabi sit 11th in the league. However, the youngster continues to be one of their brightest sparks due to his scintillating yet consistent performances.
A naturally attacking player, Solomon thrives when it comes to penetrating opposition defences in order to create chances for his team. Extremely creative and sharp, the youngster is also quite adept at setting his teammates up for goals. When it comes to scoring goals for himself, Solomon’s accuracy and finishing is truly remarkable.
Despite being so young, he has a very mature sense of reading the game and often uses his pace and physical power to his advantage. Considering the kind of attacker he is, he could fit quite well with Liverpool’s current system under Klopp.
With Liverpool interested in securing his services, this could be a great opportunity for Solomon. Not only will the move catapult him to further recognition but it will also give him a good chance to work with players like Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Philippe Coutinho.
Alternatively, Klopp could also be looking to bring in Solomon as a deputy for Mane. With the Senegalese superstar out injured for Liverpool, this could be the perfect opportunity to move for Solomon, who will bring a few of the same traits as Coutinho into a seemingly attack-oriented Liverpool side. Moreover, if at all Philippe Coutinho leaves Liverpool in the future, Solomon could prove to be a worthy replacement.
