Who is this African attacker that Liverpool are trying to sign? An Ideal Plan B for Klopp to think about?

According to reports, Liverpool are thinking about making a move for Moses Simon. The winger, who plays for KAA Gent in the Belgian Jupiler Pro league, has emerged as a surprising target for Liverpool. Here is a scout report for those who are wondering what Simon will offer to the Reds if the transfer goes through.

Simon is a quick winger who can play on both flanks, but he prefers to operate on the left-wing from where he loves to cut inside.

After cutting inside, the Nigerian looks to make an impact by looking for a shot on goal or provide a pass to a team-mate, who is in a better position. To add unpredictability to his game, Simon can also fool a defender by faking a shot and running to the byline before whipping in a cross with his left foot.

Without the ball, Simon looks to exploit spaces in between defences by making quick devastating runs. Interestingly, the player bears a number of similarities to Saido Mane at Liverpool.

Agility and pace are two of the biggest strengths of Simon’s game as he can leave his marker for dead even in tight situations.

The Nigerian has good anticipatory skills which enable him to make timely runs into the spaces between defenders and wreak havoc. Even while facing a defender with the ball at his feet, Simon is a very effective dribbler, who loves to take-on and beat the players who try to stop him.

Besides his pace and dribbling skills, the winger also possesses the ability to use both his feet. Simone is very comfortable in striking the ball with either foot.

At a height of 168 cm, Simon has a low centre of gravity which helps him in being a good dribbler but it also means that the player is almost a liability in the air. The winger, who fails to win most of his aerial duels, is also not the strongest of players and he could struggle with the physical nature of the Premier League.

Another area of concern for the 22-year-old is his stamina as the player can be seen fading away in the latter phases of a game.
