Who Is This £180,000 Winger That Leeds Have Made A Bid For? Everything You Need To Know

Kamil Jozwiak

Scout Report – Kamil Jozwiak

According to recent reports, Leeds United have had an offer of £180,000 for Polish youngster Kamil Jozwiak turned down but they remain interested in his capture.

The 19-year-old winger is out of contract at the end of the season and so Leeds are prepared to be patient. However, they are interested in making another offer in order to bring him in during the January transfer window and revive their faltering promotion bid.

Leeds appear to value Jozwiak at around £180,000 given his contract situation, but for that sort of money, Lech Poznan are happy to keep hold of him in order to utilise his talent until the end of the season.

In fact, the Polish club are keen to even tie down Jozwiak on a long-term deal and are negotiating with his agent while also listening to offers from England. It appears that the player fancies a move abroad and has rejected a new four-year contract in Poland. Leeds are monitoring the situation and here’s what we know about him so far:

History

Born in Miedzyrzecz, Jozwiak started his football journey by joining Junior Zbaszynek at just 7 years old. Two years later, he joined UKP Zielona Gora where he stayed for four years and improved markedly as a flying winger.

Gaining a bigger and bigger reputation as each month went by, he came to the attention of Lech Poznan and signed for the club back in 2011 and continued his rise towards first-team football which he achieved in February 2016.

Style Of Play

At just 5ft 9½in, Jozwiak is an old-fashioned winger; quick, tricky and using his low centre of gravity to twist, turn and bamboozle defenders before getting quality balls into the box.

Proper wing play is starting to look like a dying art so it would be really interesting to see him ply his trade in England at some point, maybe as early as this January if Leeds get their way.

Jozwiak’s Future

On sheer ability, his future will be away from Poland for sure with one of the top five leagues in Europe being his ultimate destination you would feel.

The English Championship is certainly a very good route to this, especially if he chooses a club who may get promoted. So with Leeds still being promotion hopefuls this season, Elland Road could be a good destination for him. A decent move for both the club and the player.
