The Daily Mail reports that the Hammers are interested in a move for Le Havre defender Harold Moukoudi. The French outfit have slapped a price tag of £10.7million on the player and any club wanting to sign him have to pay that fee.
Manuel Pellegrini has already bolstered the defence with Fabian Balbuena and Issa Diop. The arrival of Moukoudi will provide the manager with further depth and stability in the defensive department.
The 20-year-old rose through the youth ranks of Le Havre before being promoted to the senior squad in 2015. He has since gone on to establish himself in the team, going on to make a total of 44 appearances in all competitions. The Frenchman has also represented his country in the Under-18 and Under-20 divisions, proving to be an able and consistent defender.
Standing 6ft 3inches tall, Moukoudi is a dominant presence in the backline. He is rarely prone to making mistakes, often receiving praise for his defensive diligence. The youngster is also very strong in the air, posing a huge aerial threat from set-pieces. His aerial prowess also helps him win crucial headers in the defence.
The defender is very calm and composed on the ball as well and possesses impressive control. The youngster will offer cover for the likes of Angelo Ogbonna, Winston Reid and Declan Rice.
